Traveling to London on a tight budget? While England’s capital has a reputation of being an extremely costly city to visit, London is surprisingly bursting with treats and experiences that won’t cost you a lot of money. From artsy galleries and hilarious comedy shows to breathtaking iconic landmarks, this multicultural and vibrant metropolis has an endless array of awesome freebies that guarantee to give you a memorable and wondrous getaway. As a matter of fact, most of the city’s prized attractions and top sights can be enjoyed by its visitants for everybody’s favorite price of zero dollars.
Headed to London, but don’t have a ton of Euro bills to spend? Give your credit card or wallet a break, and experience London with these amazing free delights.

Get a walking tour for free
Want to learn a little bit more about London? Then, get a free walking tour in London from Sandemans New Europe. Not only is it a free way to learn more about the city’s culture and beautiful history, but it also lets you take in mesmerizing sights, such as the Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament and Trafalgar Square.

Snap a photo of Big Ben
No trip to London is complete without a selfie or photo of the universally renowned Big Ben. After all, it is often deemed as the world’s most famous clock tower, and is a majestic sight that never ceases to amaze its spectators.
Visit the charming art galleries of London
Fond of art? You don’t have to spend a fortune to see the most remarkable works of art in the London. Whether you are into contemporary art or British art, the city has a cluster of art galleries that you visit for free, such as Tate Modern, Tate Britain, National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery and The Wallace Collection.

Tour museums with free admission
London has a number of museums that offer free access to the public, including Bank of England Museum, Museum of London Docklands, Museum of London, William Morris gallery, Queen’s House and National Maritime Museum. My personal favorite in London, however, is the Natural History Museum – a magnificent treasure trove where you can take a selfie or come face-to-face with a mighty T-Rex.

Enjoy a panoramic view of the city for free
Don’t get us wrong – the panoramas from the celebrated London Eye are nothing short of spectacular, but the cost for a flight in this gigantic observation wheel can be a little expensive for budget-conscious people like me. Fortunately, though, there are plenty of places around the city like Primrose Hill, where you can enjoy bird’s eye views that are just as stunning as the ones in London eye.

Watch the changing of the guard
You can’t leave the city of London without watching Buckingham Palace’s the Changing of the Guard. As far as I’m concerned, this military tradition is truly a spectacle and an attraction you must see while visiting London. As one of the tradition’s spectators, you will get to see the Royal guards dressed elaborately in ceremonial uniform wonderfully perform the switch in sync.
By the way, it takes place every day during summer, and every second day in winter.

Be an audience of a TV show
Just like in NYC, you too can be a part of a live audience of a TV show, sitcom or game show in UK’s capital without spending a dime. All you have to do is go to TV.recordings.com or the official website of BBC Shows, and find out what’s available.
Comedy shows for free
London has a handful of comedy clubs where you can have a blast and a lot of laughs for free like the Millers and Angel Comedy Club.
Relax in garden or park
When London’s energetic vibe gets a bit overwhelming, head off to any of the city’s scenic and verdant oasis, and relax for a few hours. To me, the best green places to unwind in London are Kensington Gardens, Saint James’s Park, Hyde Park and Queen Mary’s Rose garden.
See the most iconic sights in London for free
London has myriad of wonderful sights that can enjoy for free. Crowd favorites like Piccadily Circus, Piccadily Circus and Leicester Square as well as beautiful suburbs like Camden Town and Notthing Hill are all free for everyone to visit and see.
Open your travel planner now, plan your vacation, and experience these awesome things for free!
