AZORES TRIP PLANNING

Ready for an adventure? Follow me on our March 2015 trip to the Archipelago of the Azores!

Come Visit the Azores!

Look Out: Extraordinary Trip Ahead...

Described by Frommer's as "one of the most offbeat travel experiences in Europe," the Azores provide a mixed landscape of volcanoes and shimmering sea.
Untouched nature, authentic charm and the immensity of the blue ocean characterize this group of nine charming volcanic islands spread out in the middle of the North Atlantic.
Not to mention that these wonderful islands have also been named on the list of the Top 100 sustainable destinations for 2014 by Green Destinations!
We're very excited that we'll be seeing volcanic lakes and caves, hiking through endless green forests and pastures, discovering the culture, and hopefully getting to taste some of the incredible local flavors!
Ancient people believed the Azores Islands marked the end of the world, mythologists claim they are the remnants of the lost continent of Atlantis and travelers boast of finding this hidden gem in the Atlantic.

I'm sure that without a doubt visiting the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores will be an epic experience of a lifetime!

With Boston being one of the ONLY USA cities to fly directly to the Azores, and our flight to Ponta Delgada leaving on Sunday night, we're gonna enjoy a weekend exploring the historic city of Boston before heading on our way to the gorgeous islands of the Azores!!!

Pre-Trip Notes

02/05/15 - I've been doing much research this past week, and have added places, and things to do on the page. Finding a few disappointments - No ferry service in March. And so far the Povoacão hike is temporarily closed. Ugh. Fingers crossed that by the time we are there next month that the trail is open and that we can in fact find operating Ferry Services out of São Miguel.
