As for myself, I'm not a big fan of comic books or super heroes, but somehow because of their father, my kids wound up becoming encyclopedias and genealogists of the fantasy realm.
So when I heard that Wonder con (Comic cons little brother) was going to be in the neighborhood and that we were going to be in town, I knew that I had to give the kids a pre-Easter surprise!
Driving up to the event we had caught glimpses of various costumed individuals walking the streets. But that was nothing... The reality of Fantasy had only struck once we had actually arrived on the premises of the Anaheim Convention Center.
Which creatures of all kinds had come down from their other worldly planets for a visit or maybe it was a family reunion!

For Dave and I it was more like the definition of Sensory overload.
People watching at its very finest (if that's what they were) maybe it was actually alien watching?
All ages, shapes, and sizes and I couldn't even comprehend or half way understand what my eyes were seeing.
But one thing I know for sure is that these characters were certainly "characters"!
Here is where we were guaranteed to see your home made and most elaborate costumes. And each of them quite eager for attention and to have their picture taken and their costumes praised!

3 Halls of the Convention Center just packed full of Artists and Merchandise booths galore.
And let's forget about "washed up celebrity alley." Where the likes of Lou Ferrigno would accept $30-40 to have a picture taken with him. Or Larry Thomas, the soup Nazi from Seinfeld fame autographing his book Confessions of a Soup Nazi: An Adventure in Acting and Cooking. As well as both Richard Hatch & Herbert Jefferson Jr. from the original Battlestar Gallactica.

Coming to this event was the epitome of being in a place where all things fantasy and Halloween collide!
