Searching for Airfare & Discovering More About Spirit Air
Happy Sunday!! Wow - yesterday was a bit of a blur. For some reason, after I took Punkin to the vet in the morning, I came back here, did a few household chores, wrote my blog and took the nap to end all naps!!
I didn't realize how exhausted I was! But, boy, did it feel good. When I woke up, I ran out to the grocery store to stock up on some "sick food" essentials including soup and water. Yup, my girl Gianna has a bit of a cold. I swear, it's all emotionally brought on due to her stress over NOT being able to miss school in order to maintain her Honors status. I think she's actually making herself more stressed. I wish there was a way for me to calm her down. Anyway, today I'll be catching up on laundry (yes, at the laundromat) and doing some house tidying.
In Travel news...
Kelsey and I have been scouring the internet sites for airfares for our two upcoming trips - Disney World in February and Sicily in late June. Nothing much to speak of in the way of really good fares, however, Spirit Air kept coming up. Now, if you are not familiar with this airline, it's a no frills air carrier. Their flight prices reflect the bare bones flight and from there, passengers can select the "add-ons" they want, being charged for each one. So, for instance, if you want to check a bag, it's an additional cost; if you want more leg room, it's at an additional cost; and so on. Being no-frills they also do NOT offer in-flight beverage service - not even water. I guess the good news is that they are transparent, so you know exactly for what you are being charged. But, on the other hand, it would seem to me that traveling this airline would make the most sense for short distance flights. I found a great review from Travel & Leisure, which I am linking for your reference. We'll be doing some shopping later - taking advantage of the extended Black Friday/Early Cyber Monday sales - I'll share our deals with you tomorrow!!

Vegas in less than a week!
Greetings! I guess it's finally Sunday.
Can you tell how screwed up I am around the holidays and of course you already realize that I can never tell what day it is when I'm traveling. Yesterday was a busy shopping day for me, like everyone else, I'm trying to get ready for the holidays but I also have Dominic's birthday - the BIG 20 - coming up on Thursday and then of course we'll be out of town as of Friday morning. I was out and about quite early and back and forth I went for the rest of the day. Eventually picking up Dave and Cosette to join me at the mall. As if the mall needed more people! Yes we braved the mall. All the stores had extended Black Friday sales and it wasn't even that we went out to take advantage of them. But kinda got caught up in the middle of it all. The plan was to search out this years Christmas color for our annual Family holiday pictures. And drumroll please...the color is going to be Maroon! When I looked it up, I could not believe that the last time we did Maroon was way back in 1997!!! Which means that Dominic, Cosette, Mika, Chaplin, Dave C. or Dave B., and Andrew have never worn this color for any of our holiday pics. My dear Cosette already found a dress that caught her eye and being that she can be quite the picky/choosy teenage girl, I already went ahead and made the purchase. We had some successes while we were out there. But I also had some stresses as well. Black Friday sales equate to many things and many sizes being sold out. And the fact that I refuse to go out and shop on Black Friday, I kinda got bit in the butt by this when I couldn't find a specific gift anywhere within 250 miles of my location! UGH I'm hoping that Cyber Monday comes through for me. In the meantime, I've also been looking at ALL THINGS RELATED TO TRAVEL - as per my usual And while all of our Las Vegas dining has been planned out and arranged, I have been working on the Las Vegas shows for next weekend. Here's what we have to look forward to: Comedian Jim Gaffigan - who is nothing short of a riot! We are quite excited about this show. I'm sure that the four of us will be ROTHLMAO - hopefully the other attendees don't mind.
MJ LIVE - I've heard GREAT things about this concert and have been looking forward to seeing it for a while. I know that the kids and I will be dancing and singing out loud to this one.
The stores are calling me and I also need to start packing for Vegas!
Cheers to a great day out there, -Travelin' Tanya |
