Tanya's Daily Scoop
CURRENTLY TRAVELING TO:
Yosemite National Park
On the Road Again...
Yosemite is located in central California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The park is visited by over 3.5 million people every year. (That's a whole lot of people!) And of course Summer is by far the busiest season - and when I don't want to be there. LOL
This weekend should be pretty darn perfect, absolutely wonderful and certainly not at all very crowded :)
The weather also seems to be forecasted as what I would consider just lovely! It had snowed earlier in the week, but there are no storms and only blue skies expected this weekend.
But the land itself has been occupied for many many years prior when the
Ahwaneechee Native Americans had lived in the Yosemite Valley for at least 4,000 years. (They obviously had GREAT taste!)
But eventually word got out of Yosemite’s incredible beauty and the first group of tourists arrived in 1855. Nine years following that, President Lincoln named Yosemite Valley and Mariposa Grove as the country’s first public preserve!
The first National Park was Yellowstone created in 1872. Number two was Sequoia National Park in 1890 along with number three Yosemite National Park the same year.
But first...we've got a few things to take care of before heading out...
- I've gotta run to Whole Foods to pick up some last minute snacks for the trip.
- Cosette has a horse back riding evaluation with a new trainer (the trainer will be under my evaluation as well!) - if you recall...things went VERY SOUTH with our old trainer. But we have moved on to bigger and better!
FOODIE FRIDAY!
JSYK - I won't be posting this weeks FOODIE FRIDAY until late tonight.
The restaurant/diner I'll be featuring is full of yummy comfort foods and plenty of off menu SECRET ITEMS - one of our favorites is called the Dinosaur Egg!
Read the upcoming review to find out what it is...
It's a place that we've been going to for years. Also one that we'll be eating at on our way out of town, as we drive through Los Angeles...
So I have even MORE pictures that you can drool over! LOL
It's almost time for us to go to the stables (this is becoming a bit of a horsey type of week - we were just at the other stables yesterday!)
