BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there! Bring a mom is the most important job in the world and today is the day that Hallmark decided to acknowledge you. LOL Well actually the American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and spent the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. (credit: www.history.com) AND The History of Mother's Day is centuries old and the earliest Mother's Day celebrations can be traced back to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor of Rhea, the Mother of the Gods. Not to put too much pressure on you, but the future of our world is counting on how you raise your kids! Another absolutely amazing thing about today is that it rings in the 5th anniversary of this blog with my dear cousin Elisa! We have loved doing this from day 1 and look forward to continuing to share our efforts with you (our loyal readers/followers) and plan of doing so for many more years to come!! A tiny little thing that we do here on the blog each year on our anniversary is switching column sides... So for the next year, you'll find me here on the left side for computer users & on top for our mobile readers. Now, I know that I have been crazy busy lately. I think I'm crazy busy and then I add more to my calendar and now I'm insanely busy, but having the time of my life!! Just in the past week alone, I've been to all four corners (and then some) of our beautiful country. From Los Angeles to New York to Miami and most recently to Seattle. And if I were to just name some of the major cities that I've been in over the past 2 weeks it might make you tired just thinking about it... Denver, Houston, Indianpolis, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Las Vegas. Whew!! Actually I was actually first in Portland on Friday and then went up to Seattle. Here are some memories from the last couple of days: INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDENS IN PORTLAND MORE FROM PORTLAND Into Washington state. SEATTLE BABY! It's about time for me to go eat our annual Mother's Day brunch and then I'm thinking that our little crew will be heading out to the gardens. Back at cha tomorrow, -Travelin' Tanya | Happy 5th Anniversary to Us!!Hey there! Today is such a special day in two major ways. It's Mother's Day!!! A big, special wish out to all the moms! You obviously know by now, if you've been following us, that THE most important aspect of our lives is that of being moms. For me, my girls Gianna and Kelsey are the focal point of my entire existence. Being a single and sole parent, everything I do, everywhere I go and all the plans I make, have their happiness and well being at the center of my thoughts. So, today, I'd like to thank my daughters for all the joy they have brought me, the wonderful memories and all the fun times to come!! Not to mention, being an integral part of all my traveling adventures! It also happens to be the fifth anniversary of Travelin' Cousins! That's right, Tanya and I launched our site and blog five years ago on Mother's Day. If you would like to take a step back in time, check out our first blog ever, back in May, 2014 - the 11th to be exact! Click here to read a re-cap posted on May 8, 2016. Since that day, we have shared so many blogs, articles, videos, photos, in what has been collectively, a reservoir of memories for me and Tanya. We cannot thank you enough for being a part of it all and for your continued support!! You guys rock!! You may have also noticed that, as is our tradition, Tanya and I switch sides each year on our anniversary. For the next year, I'll be coming to you from the right column with another 364 days filled with fun, stuff!! I'll tell you about my day today in tomorrow's day, as I've got to get moving. We'll be headed into Queens to visit my Aunt Ro for brunch. Then, back to Long Island to wish my mom and sister a happy Mother's day. Enjoy your day!!! Cheers, -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
