Elisa's Daily ScoopHappy Weekend!YAY!! It's Friday! Happy that the weekend is here! Boy, do I have a busy weekend! How about you? I'm not very happy that there is more snow in the forecast for today - UGH - on the first day of Spring, no less - REALLY?? Today, we're headed into the city - more about that below. Tomorrow, the girls and I are participating in a Fun Run for their school as it is the celebration day of the 75th Anniversary. I'm crossing my fingers that the snow does not affect things. Saturday evening, we're headed to a Celebration Gala, so I will be busy, busy busy. Angela's House Spring 2015 Gala www.Angelashouse.org I want to tell you what a nice evening last night was at the Angela's House Spring 2015 Gala at the Watermill in Hauppauge. This non-profit organization helps so many families who have medically fragile and terminally ill children. It was such a wonderful event! The strength of these parents and these children and the love and caring given by the caregivers at Angela's House was more touching than I can ever describe. Here is a sneak peak into last night at this event with Denise: The Chinese auction had over 90 baskets! Denise walked away with a number of the prizes, including a television, which she gave to her cousins, Rob and Brad (also in attendance) since their tv just died this week!!! Happy Macaron Day NYC!! Macaron Day NYC takes place each year on March 20th and is inspired by and coincides annually with Jour du Macaron in Paris, created by La Maison Pierre Herme Paris in association with the Relais. Today is the 6th year that participating bakeries around New York City will be giving away free macarons and raising awareness and proceeds for charity. A portion of the day’s macaron sales will be donated to City-Harvest. Founded in 1982 as the world’s first food rescue organization, City Harvest is dedicated to helping feed the more than 1.4 million New Yorkers facing hunger. I'm so excited that Macaron Day 2015 fell on a day when Gianna and Kelsey had early dismissal! Thanks to my friend Alycia who alerted me to this fun event, we will be heading into NYC to partake in the festivities by visiting a number of the bakeries listed above. I'll be vlogging later today so you can see the excitement first hand in tomorrow's blog! A little drama... Now, we had some drama that I thought might prevent us from going today...Gianna's tooth cracked yesterday while she was eating a pizza bagel. I took her immediately to my dentist brother-in-law, Dr Carlo Izzo - he confirmed that the tooth needs to be extracted. UGH! She is scheduled for monday morning with the oral surgeon. Fortunately, Carlo confirmed that Gianna COULD eat some macarons!! A big, happy, and safe farewell to Tanya today as she will be heading off for The Azores!! I can't wait to see her VLOGS!! Stay warm, stay happy and I'll see you back here tomorrow!! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily ScoopThe Fun Just Never Ends!Well Ladies and Gents...what a day today is gonna be! Seems like Spring wants to really start off with a BANG, or with maybe with SPRINGS! So much going on, and here's a just little snapshot: As you should know, and are hopefully excited for me, I leave for my trip to the Azores TODAY! First we'll fly to Boston - which is one of the ONLY US cities that flies to the Azores! The other being Oakland...which is of course soooo much closer. BUT would definitely not be anywhere near as much fun - and I've got lots of fun planned ahead! It is also gonna be quite a horsey filled day... Starting with this morning I promised to take Cosette to visit Dream at her stables in Chino Hills, and to also take her riding at the "other" stables in Anaheim. This of course will all take place before I have to head out to LAX. Cosette also has a special choir rehearsal that I'll drop her off for on my way to the airport (her director will drive her home). I've got a bit more shopping to do for the household - because I like to leave the kids with the fridge and cabinets bursting with yummy opportunities! Of course the rest of the fam bam will be eating too! Not to mention that I've got a few more chores and errands both in and out of the house before I can feel totally accomplished with leaving on this trip. As for yesterday...MY BIRTHDAY!!! We had a jolly good time! I took the kids to the Rock Climbing gym and since my nails have been cut down - I got to do my share of climbing and exploring throughout the tunnels! Definitely got a good workout over there! Next up, the group size expanded and it was time for some fun on the tennis courts! The kids, Brigitte, Jet, Chaplin, and Matt had come along to help me celebrate. Once we got back home my wonderful mom was in the kitchen in the process of making me a DELICIOUS Birthday dinner of homemade pasta! OMG it was sooooooo GOOD! After we savored every bite of our dinner, it was time to go the the movie theater to see Cinderella. And my birthday group expanded even more!! There were 11 of us - me, Dave, the kids, Jet, Andrew, Chaplin, my mom, Matt, Liz (who is my birthday twin), and Mika. I admit that I am a fan of Cinderella, so perhaps I'm being biased - but I thought the movie was great! And when we all walked out of the theater and I had inquired how everyone else liked it - it was a big winner folks! Highly recommended! Lastly, we came home, everyone sang Happy Birthday to me and to Liz and we had cake! What a GREAT day! I may not have made the most lavish of plans, but I wanted to have fun and to celebrate my birthday with the people I love. There was no pressure, and just an amazing time! And finally it's FOODIE Friday and the beginning of the weekend! You will find it under the Travel Blogs drop down menu, and I will also add a link to this page... CLICK HERE to read all about it! Hope you have a fantastic day and kick off your weekend with a bang! Next time you hear from me (tomorrow) it will be LIVE from Boston! See ya there, -T |
