Another beautiful day here on Long Island! Today is sunny but extremely windy!! But, I'm lovin' it.
It also happens to be a pampering day for me. Got to the hair salon early, so I could enjoy the rest of the day with a fresh blow out!
The rest of the afternoon will be doing some banking, bill paying, a few errands and then a relaxing get together with a girlfriend for cappuccino.
Punkin spent the entire morning with Mommy and now she is out cold!!

I know we are a travel blog, so why talk about Dr. Seuss today Well, I'm going to tell you why...
Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American writer, cartoonist, animator, book publisher, and artist best known for authoring children's books under the pen name Dr. Seuss.
His books, stories, characters and writings have become part of American culture. So much so that they are, and have been the focus of Musical theatre around the world, as well as feature films., not to mention, some of the most iconic songs and a theme park within Universal Studios!!
So, is it becoming clear that celebrating Dr. Seuss is very much relevant to travel!!
Let's take a look at three of the most interesting Dr. Seuss-inspired destinations...
SEUSS LANDING AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, ORLAND0, FL
SEUSS LANDING IN ORLANDO'S UNIVERSAL STUDIOS (credit: DIS Unplugged)
For anyone that has read Dr. Seuss books or watched any one of the many movies and animated specials - imagine if the pages were to come alive for you to jump right into!!
Well, walking into Seuss Landing in Universal Studios' Islands of Adventures appears to come as close to that as possible.
Whether it be The Cat in the Hat, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish, or any of the other stories, Suess Landing has recreated a real "Seuss World!"
Opened in 1999, Seuss Landing was designed more for small children and their families. Containing attractions, shopping, restaurants, and costumed characters, it is one six "islands" within the heavily-themed Islands of Adventure at Universal, Orlando.
There is also background music as you stroll through, which is influenced by the wacky mind of Dr. Seuss. Normal instruments are accompanied by more exotic instruments, such as a hard strung with rubber bands.
Made up of bright colors - you will not find a straight line anywhere in this themed world!!
Some of the attractions include The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride, the Caro-Seuss-el, The Cat in the Hat and themed cafes!
Seussical The Musical
Seussical is a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based on the books of Dr. Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. The play's story is a rather complex amalgamation of many of Seuss's most famous books.
The show opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on November 30, 2000 and was directed by Frank Galati with choreography by Kathleen Marshall.
On December 4, 2012, Seussical opened on the West End at the Arts Theatre in London, England.
‘I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees!’ - remember that line from the movie, The Lorax?
The big-hearted, moustachioed critter is coming back to the London stage in the battle over the beloved truffula trees and the whole of Paradise Valley.
I so wish this was going to be playing in London during our trip next month (insert sad face), but for this of you traveling abroad next Fall, get your tickets now for performances beginning in October, 2017!
Throwin' it back... And while we are experiencing unseasonably warm temps here in New York the past February, only two short years ago, unseasonably COLD temps hit Florida during my Florida Theme Park Road Trip in February, 2015.
I still can't believe we had to wear winter coats!!!

I always find it so funny how no matter where I travel to that I always jump right into the time-zone no jet-lag to worry about. But as soon as I get home it all hits me and hits me hard! LOL
I suppose this is definitely the way I prefer - I certainly wouldn't want to experience jet-lag while on vacation!
In fact, another thing that was super funny happened when I dozed off hungry, Dave went to go pick up a phone order that I placed and when he came back and woke me up I had absolutely no idea where I was - I was clueless. Didn't know where I was or what was going on. I was in a total DAZE!
As you probably have noticed, we now have 18 days until our next trip. At this point I'm not entirely sure who is coming with me and who is opting to stay home. I guess we shall see and I'll let you know when I find out.
The next couple of days will be rather mellow over here. I need to run to the stores and do some grocery shopping, I'll need to some cooking, and of course there is plenty of catching up to do.
If you've already checked out Elisa's column then you would have noticed that today is Dr. Seuss Day!
While I can't say that I grew up with the books, I have seen a few of the movies and have been to Seuss Landing at Universals Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL and it is seriously like being transported into the world of Dr Seuss.
Well since I'm a bit out of sorts and have much to do, I too am gonna bid you a adieu!
