BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
Another Trip on the Calendar for Summer 2020Good Day! This weather sure is crazy - today is just gorgeous here on Long Island. The temps are supposed to go up to the 50's and the sun is shining. I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was remarkably relaxing. Although I did do many errands, it was still not high stress. Lots happening this week! First of all, one of our long-awaited movies has hit theaters this weekend - Captain Marvel. While we didn't see it YET - me and my Marvel-loving girls will be seeing it tomorrow (Tuesday) and taking advantage of $5 Tuesdays at AMC Theaters. It will be their after school treat! Tomorrow evening, we'll be heading to Kelsey's school for the annual Science Fair. As you know, I was unable to attend the New York Botanical Garden's Orchid Show yesterday since I waited too long to get tickets and they were sold out. So, I'm thinking that I'll go on Wednesday or Thursday. And with St. Patrick's Day coming up next weekend, Kelsey will be having a day filled with fun and celebration at her school's St. Patrick's Day carnival. I'll be bringing in mini cupcakes for the festivities. Fun week ahead! Another Trip Added to the calendar!!! Next year, 2020, my daughter will be celebrating her 16th birthday. We had decided that instead of a Sweet 16 party, we would instead, have a "destination celebration" in the Caribbean. As it turns out, several of her friends wanted to do the same thing! I had suggested that rather than have the same group of friends go on various trips, that we work together to plan one big trip, all together, to do the celebrating! Everyone was in agreement. Since we at TC have a great affiliation with AM Resorts and their many of their all-inclusive beach resorts throughout the Caribbean and places that include Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and soon, The Canary Islands, I stepped up and volunteered to check out the best deal for our multi-family adventure! Punta Cana, Dominican Republic seemed to be a destination everyone was excited about and Dreams has a fantastic resort that is just perfect for teens!! Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana has so many amenities - not only in their room accommodations, but, also at the property. There are 8 dining location options and a Teens Club for teenagers ages 13-17, offering nightly entertainment, daily activities and a vast array of sports and games. The nightly social events are held from 8:30 until Midnight, feature Disco mixers, which are held for teens. Activities at the Teen Core Zone includes Xbox, PlayStation, Wii and other video games, billiards, table games, a batting cage and table football. I found a 5 minute video overview of the resort on YouTube - because sometimes a picture (or video, in this case) is worth a thousand words! We are planning this all-inclusive Sweet 16 celebration for June 2020! In the meantime, I still have a few trips to get booked prior to this one. For instance, there is our Taste of Sicily trip this June/June 201 9 as well as our Spring 2020 Amsterdam trip. Lots to do!! Well, I'm off to enjoy the day! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo | Tanya Takes on Tampa recap of SundayHi there! Wow! What a trip! What a weekend! I'm back now. I'm actually posting this late (as I'm sure you can tell). But it's like they say "better late than never"! The weekend was GREAT and yesterday was freakin' AHHHH-mazing! As you know, I was in Tampa for a super fun Spring Training getaway... And the Yankees (my team - the best team in history) won both games that I went to! Awesomeness!! Yesterday's game was at George Steinbrenner Stadium, which happens to be the largest Spring Training Field in all of the Grapefruit League. And I was super excited to be there! Maybe too excited... Because from the minute that I crossed over the pedestrian bridge and over to the stadium, all of a sudden my nerves, anxiety and the feeling of being overwhelmed totally took over! Check out these cool videos from the game! From the shopping to the sights to the players to the game. It was all a huge blast for me and I can tell you that we will definitely be coming back to Tampa for another Spring Training getaway! While it probably won't be next year - only because I feel that didn't get to ski as much this winter as I usually do, or as I wish I did. The plan is that next winter I'll be on the slopes quite a bit more. After all that and a bag of chips it was time to head back to SoCal and head back home. Enjoy your day! -Travelin' Tanya |
