Memories of EPCOT Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Greetings, Since Travelin' Elisa is enjoying her time at EPCOT (my favorite park - go figure - I love the World Showcase); I figured that we would just make today all about EPCOT. My February memories and her current visit. Back in February my gang had ventured off on a WDW adventure. It was a first time visit for Jet (my sister), Andrew (BIL) and Chaplin (niece). And what a great time we had! While we only visit WDW every 3-4 years, each time we manage to get a few visitors who are interested in coming along. Funny how it is never the same group of guests - is it the cost, the crazy schedule, or are they just not big fans of Disney World? And yet in spite of all of the fun that we have had over the years, this recent past visit was probably the best one yet! I would love to visit the WDW parks with Elisa one day. And it actually almost happened back in 2016, when we had come so close to having our first visit together, but since that was the year of Hurricane Matthew - things got a wee bit hectic... And we still have yet been able to match up of schedules and take a second nab at it. Now please enjoy some photos from EPCOT - Feb. 2024 FRANCE PAVILLION MEXICO PAVILLION CHINA PAVILLION JAPAN PAVILLION MOROCCO PAVILLION U.K. PAVILLION What an awesome time we had. Looking at these pictures and others from this vacation just brings a huge smile to my face! As far as the here and the now for today, well I went to another Farmers Market! This is the 3rd Farmers Market in a week that I've gone to and the same one that I went to with Jet and Chaplin last week. This week my mom also came along. And instead of getting a delish coconut milk from KOKOMOO, I opted to get a "Green Mary" it was a fresh juice made from Coconut water, Celery, Tomato and Organic Spices with a touch of Cayenne - it was really quite good as it (although I was told it was fantastic with some Vodka!). I also had a few errands and then made my way home to watch the 1st game of the Subway Series - which the Yanks played horribly and lost 7-9 to the Mets. It would've been a total blow out if not for Judge's 29th HR which happened to be a GRAND SLAM in the 8th inning! I have a quick up and back trip to Fairfield, CA tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch game 2, but you can count on the fact that I'll be listening closely and rooting for my Yankees to win! Back atcha in a couple of days. Tootles. Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya | HOT in EPCOT Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORLANDO, FLORIDA Hello!!! What a day in EPCOT!!. On day 2 of our Summer Disney Trip, we made our way over to my favorite park in all of Disney World - EPCOT!!! We got there by way of the Disney Skyliner, which was super fun, however, Kelsey was not fond of being up so high. Well, one of the benefits of being a Disney Vacation Club member (DVC) is that you can get access to the parks prior to them being opened to the general public. For ride goers in EPCOT that is great, in an effort to beat some crowds and avoid long lines. We decided to head to the Norway pavillion in the World Showcase to go on Frozen Ever After, which usually has huge lines. Even arriving early, the line was pretty long, which in an of itself would not ordinarily be an issued BUT, the temperature was so hot and the humidity was equally high, that we were starting to wilt standing in the blaring sun that we decided to head over to another favorite ride - Soarin. NORWAY PAVILLION FUTURE WORLD/EPCOT Always has been and always will be one of our gang's favorite rides!! After an enjoyable ride (with virtually no significant wait time), we headed back to the World Showcase. CHINA PAVILLION We arrived back in China a little before 11am when all of the shops and restaurants open in the World Showcase. Finding a place in the shade, we hung out, shielded from the sun until we could enter the shops. The merchandise in China was so lovely and wouldn't you know it, Kelsey found the most adorable jade tree that we ended up purchasing for her room. I couldn't resist putting this hat on, as it was just like the ones that me and my travel companion Cheryl purchased and wore while in Beijing, China in 1991 when we walked the Great Wall. MOROCCO PAVILLION SPICE ROAD TABLE FOR LUNCH FRANCE PAVILLION Th temperature was really oppressive - heat index made it feel like 105 degrees, so after lunch and walking through France, we decided to hightail it back to the hotel for a few hours and then head back in the evening for more walking, shopping and eating. UK PAVILLION JAPAN PAVILLION Gianna grabbed a quick bite in Japan. Kelsey and I were both so hot that we couldn't eat. ITALY PAVILLION Beautiful shot taken by Gianna. We ended our day with the fireworks show. It was a long and lovely day. Could have been a bit cooler but we had a blast!!! Tomorrow we are headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge for a delicious Indian lunch. Then dinner at night with family friends Joan & Gerry and their family at Disney Springs! Till next time, -Travelin' Elisa |
