Take me out to the Ballgame!

Happy Sunday to you and...

Greetings from San Francisco!

We are here in one of my favorite cities (have you read our list of favorites? Click HERE to see the list)

What a day we had yesterday...
We started off with the Most INSANE day of our lives - doing the Gladiator Rock 'n Run, an obstacle course that we needed to
COMMIT * CRUSH * CONQUER!
Picture
BEFORE
Picture
AFTER
We did what we needed to do, and had lots of muddy fun while doing it!

Running, jumping, climbing, crawling, sprawling, you name it, we did it!

While I don't mind running (in the "right" conditions), it certainly wasn't happening going uphill!
And it wasn't just me (and Cosette and Dave) who wanted to walk the uphills - those freakin' hills put a halt to 98% of the participants!

Walking uphill was where it was at, and we'd pick up the pace on the downhills and the flats.
Picture

This kid rang the bell so fast, I got the picture of him coming back down!
Picture
Picture
We all got quite dirty and Dominic showed his (very fit) stuff, and even wanted to run the entire course - hills and all! UGH
Picture
Picture
Picture
But staying together as a team is the name of the game - and team work is much needed in several of the obstacles...
Otherwise you are facing possible injury!!
And we were witness to a few of them - and we send our well wishes that everyone was and will be okay!

As for Cosette and Dave (for being newbies/first timers) they really did a killer awesome job!!!
Picture
However in the end, at the very last obstacle...
Cosette pulled a muscle in her calf.
Picture
Our day certainly wasn't without it's hiccups and plans going awry...

It all started with the email I received a few days back notifying us that the event was not allowed to offer us showers (due to the California Drought)! UGH

So it didn't take much for us to figure that we'd just go back to the campsite and use the showers there. No biggie right? WRONG!

Although the park ranger at the campgrounds had confirmed with me a few days earlier that we would in fact be able to use the showers - because we were registered campers.
On the morning of we saw notes posted on the doors of the restroom/showers - explaining that due the event the restrooms/showers would be locked from 8am-4pm and all campers would need to use the port-a-pottys! EWWWW

This was sooooo not going according to plan.

But then we get word that the event had worked it out and was going to be able to offer a small wash-off station.
We had layers upon layers of dirt packed and baked on, and
THIS WAS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR A SHOWER!!!
Picture
Dave and I didn't even bother using it and we were still quite a muddy mess by the time we left the park and headed to lunch.
So what we were gonna be dirty - we just did a mud run people!

I figured we'd go eat and continue with our plans. But this wasn't going over with the crew - they wanted (we all NEEDED) a shower!

And so plans adjusted to going to eat, and then checking into our hotel, taking "QUICK" showers and continuing on with the day...

Off we went.
Picture
Yup that's mud on my face!
On our way the kids both zonked out on the drive, and then Cosette had to pee (really badly), however right before we were able to do anything about that...We got a BLOW OUT!

Another time killer. So in the spirit of already being dirty, Dave got out there and changed the tire!
Picture
Finally we got to the restaurant for lunch...
Cosette relieved herself, we got to at least wash the stuck on dirt off of faces, hands and forearms.
Ya know...be a bit more presentable!

Yet let's just say that we got more than our share of "LOOKS" while we walked around all gross and muddy.
It had even got to the point where I had to comment to one of these rude looks.

"What...have you never seen a muddy person before?!"

And so the day went, and went, and went...
We got to the hotel, cleaned up...not taking "QUICK" showers (except for Dominic), and we lost most of the daylight - no Golden Gate Bridge, no Palace of Fine Arts, no Lombard Street - it all bummed out me.

We had no time to do anything but head to dinner - at a new happening "line out the door" sushi restaurant Shizen.
We had about an hour wait, and Dinner was delicious and sure to be a future FOODIE FRIDAY!

Cosette became exhausted during the dinner experience and once we had all returned to the hotel, there was no time wasted to put our jammies on and hop into bed!

I'm hoping to squeeze a couple of the missed items onto this morning's agenda - because the rest of the day is quite full enough!

We've got a SF Giant's game to go to, and a beautiful drive down the coast to Monterey.

I can't wait to see what we can manage, so I better get this gang out the door and get the ball rolling!

I'll fill ya in on our adventures of today, tomorrow in the Daily Scoop!

No Internet - Late Blog

Hey Folks,
So sorry for the late posting today!

If you are reading from your Email - you won't see this.  But, if you go onto our website to vote, you will see that my blog was very late to be posted.

I had so many things to take care of today and when I finally sat down, (with not much time left before emailing time) I had no internet!!!  I am in desperate need of a new router, which is on my immediate list to get!

It seems like all of my electronic devices are in need of major overhaul.

I also need more space on my MAC Desktop so I have to purchase a new exterior hard drive.

With the kids getting older and using my desktop for homework, their YouTube Channels and making videos, the space has just evaporated.  And that doesn't include the thousands of pictures I have on there as well!

So... me and the girls made a quick run to Best Buy to get both of the above items (Router and Exterior Hard Drive), when I received a text from Gianna's friend's mom inviting her over to work on the posters for the Student Council elections.

I knew how badly Gianna wanted to go, so I decided to cut my trip to Best Buy quick - just run in, get the external hard drive since she needs to use the computer tonight for studying.

Then I drove her over to her friend's house and me and Kelsey went to Starbucks (what else is new), where I knew I would get internet and that, folks, is where I'm currently writing this, very late daily scoop!!!

How is your weekend going?
Mine has really been wonderful.  First of all, who could have asked for a more gorgeous Saturday and Sunday?  The weather has been magnificent.

Secondly, I was with great friends all day yesterday at my bestie, Maria’s daughter’s Isabel’s high school graduation party in their absolutely lovely yard!

I love Maria’s parties because she does not miss a thing when planning a party - amazing food, wonderful company and the most beautiful surroundings with a backyard that she designed herself!!

Today, was a day filled with thousands of must-do errands.  I had put things off all week and was catching up today.  I spent way to much time cutting it down to the wire, which was foolish, because with the internet issues.

On a positive note, I made it to Costco and Fairway and did some much needed household shopping done.  I also got gas.

But, tomorrow morning, I do need to get the car washed, which I didn't have time to do today, along with a number of phone calls and household work scheduling - yes, it never ends guys - now we need a plumber for a leak in my living room ceiling - REALLY??? ugh!

Well, I'm sure you enjoyed reading all about Tanya and her gang's "fun in the mud" at the Gladiator Rock & Run.

Way to go Tanya! Your prissy cousin was cringing at the thought of getting so dirty lol.

I’m sorry this is a short one, but I’ll be back tomorrow in full force for a new week.

Wishing you a wonderful day!!!

-E
xoxo
