Wow!
What a freakin weekend!
And I say that in the most positive way. Driving nearly 500 miles in our own back yard and going down to the border of Mexico (nearly) and the southern border of San Diego county and then all the way up to near the northern border of Los Angeles county!
We started our day by heading to the Wild Chive in Long Beach. A Sunday brunch pop-up that is not to be missed, but if you don't want a wait then it is highly suggested that you show up when they open the doors at 9am!

It was delicious, as expected. And once we had finished we had got up from our table only to have our seats taken with seconds by squatters who were waiting patiently for a patio table (which are first come first serve).
Next we were off to go visit dear Angie who is still in the hospital and yet without a release date. The poor child has been having such a tough few weeks that the least we can do is go visit her to brighter her day.
The day was all about visiting, because right after visiting Angie, we drove up to Agoura Hills to go and visit Dave B's mom.
She is in a memory care unit at the retirement home where she lives and without her short term memory she manages to keep herself entertained by thinking/dreaming/or fascinating that she is in some other place... Sometimes it's work, sometimes it's visiting with someone who has passed on to the other side and sometimes it's just some outlandish story that she comes up with about where she lives.
In any such case - she repeats over and over and over. And lucky still know who we are!
As bad as it might sound I actually enjoy visiting her more these days, then in the past when she had a bit of a nasty little attitude. Sorry, I'm just being honest.

Then back into traffic we went. And into Los Angeles, first to have an early pre-show dinner at Sage Bistro.

Then to meet up with friends at the Hollywood Bowl to see Mamma Mia - which was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!
