Lake Winnipesaukee Last Day Recap Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: TRAVELING NEW HAMPSHIRE TO NEW YORK Happy Monday y'all! I'm up and on my way to NYC as of early this morning. After several days of New England fun with time spent on and around the Lake. As well as visiting at my cousins place in Bedford, NH. Monday wraps up this part of our trip (this trip has several flavors - Texas for the MLB All Star Game, Lake Trip, NY visiting trip, Virginia visiting trip) as we start our annual clock back up once again and countdown until next years Lake Winnipesaukee Trip. SIDE NOTE: While I'm not a "kayaker" I do enjoy going kayaking when I have the opportunity. Dominic and I were chatting about when the last time we went kayaking was and I think it had actually been a while... May 2022! And I began realizing that just this summer alone I will be kayaking in 3 very distinct world locations -
Here is a preview of what's to come in my next installation of THE "ALMOST" DAILY SCOOP "Silly me... I had opted for us to carpool along with my grandma and dad on their drive back to NYC, rather than keeping my rental and doing a one-way rental (basically I was attempting to save some dough). Now for the full picture I want you to envision - They drive a 2 door Honda Accord and being that I'm not a big complainer and as a plus I am rather physically flexible. I figured it would be a little ADVENTURE and not a problem for us to squeeze into their back seat along with some of our baggage for the 4+ hour drive. Easy peasy. And all was going pretty darn good (as good as can be expected) and without any issues... That was until we were sitting in traffic about 13 minutes from Grandma's house in Queens. And this is when and where I just about lost it and nearly had a full blown panic attack!" TO BE CONTINUED... See ya next time around. Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya | College Orientation & Good Eats Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hey Guys!!! - wow - as you can see from Tanya's blog, we are way off in posting out and emailing this blog! My dear cuz had her blog all written and completed earlier in the week and your's truly had a whole bunch of stuff going on and never got a chance to write, publish and email out our blog. It was a super busy week for me - First I had to take Kelsey to her 2 night orientation for college. Boy, have things changed since I was a kid - even commuters have to do this overnight orientation. The first day that I dropped her off, they had an all-day orientation and presentations for the parents. That was Tuesday. As you can imagine, my day Monday was pretty filled up and nutty helping Kelsey pack and get ready for her 3-day excursion. I had planned to get my blog done Monday afternoon or evening, but because I was going to be at her college orientation all day Tuesday and out with Tanya on Wednesday, I switched all my coaching appointments regularly scheduled for Tuesdays to Monday this week. So by the time I was finished with those, I was pretty much fried. So I decided I would finalize my "Monday" blog on Tuesday, but the day went long with college orientation and I had forgotten that I had a few late afternoon/evening appointments, which normally wouldn't have stopped me from blogging, but I was emotionally spent leaving my baby. (insert sad face). Another day gone! That brings us to yesterday (Wednesday) - the day started off early as I was meeting up with Tanya and Dominic in the morning in Queens at her Grandma's where she was staying while visiting New York, so we could head on upstate for a family day with Tanya's Aunt Michele. (We have some great videos that we took from our visit, which we'll blog about and post in our next blog!). And that's how I got to today, Thursday, my first chance to write and send out The "Almost" Daily Scoop. Whew. Well, in the midst of all my craziness this week, I did manage to make an incredible meal. "Lentil Bolognese with Penne." It was so darn good! In fact, I made it for me and Kelsey when Gianna was out for the evening, but she indulged in some the following day, telling me how good it was. Well, when I went to have some for dinner that same night, I found an empty container in the fridge to my great disappointment and inquired "what happened?" to which I was told "oh, I couldn't help myself, I finished it." Well, that's about it for now - see you back here soon with the full lowdown on our cousins's day trip to Warwick, New York! Have a great one!! -Travelin' Elisa |
