BRAND BALLOT'S TOP 100 MOM BLOGS FOR 2018!!
My Travel Addiction & 2 New Trips on the Calendar
Hey!! It's Tuesday, sunny and COLD!! Yes, I think Winter weather is finally here on Long Island!! And boy, and I happy.
I love the winter - well, let me clarify that - I love the cold, brisk weather; I love snow; I love winter clothes; I love hot chocolates (as everyone knows by now) and I especially love being bundled up inside on cold nights watching movies. However, I do not love shoveling and cleaning snow off of my car! lol. I guess it goes with the territory! Last night I told the girls I had some important family business to discuss. They knew, pretty much right away, that it had to do with mom's unending desire to make plans - local and distant travel. I told them I wanted to chat about 2020 - they looked at me like was crazy because they are just trying to get through the rest of the semester at school lol. In any case, I announced, authoritatively and with great exuberance, that we have two trips that are being put on the calendar for 2020 - they are well aware of my travel addiction!! I know I've chatted here on the blog about these destinations, but now, I've made up my mind, and they are going on the calendar! April 2020 - Amsterdam & The Tulip Festival
This trip will have to take place over Easter break, and unfortunately, because of when Easter falls in 2020, we will not be able to be present in Amsterdam for the annual Tulip Parade, which takes place at the end of the month on April 25th.
It's a shame that we will travel all the way to Holland specifically to experience the Tulips and then have to miss the parade by about a week, but there's nothing that I can do about it, since the girls (especially, Gianna) cannot miss school. Oh well, I'm not going to worry - it is what it is and I'm just thrilled to be planning such an amazing trip. More to come on my itineraries and the specifics!!! Summer 2020 - Pacific Northwest Road Trip
You guys now how long I've been talking about this trip! Well, it will become a reality now that I've assigned a date to it.
I'll be telling you all about our itinerary as I need to plot it out, but the above photo map gives you a bit of the story of the route we'll be traveling. I am getting so excited just thinking about it!! I'm really excited for my girls to visit San Francisco, which will be our final destination city, as it is one of my favorite places in the world! And that's my story for today. I cannot tell you how psyched I am! Of course, I still have numerous trips to take prior to that time, one of which is not even booked or planned out completely - Taste of Sicily. If you are reading this Tanya - we need to get busy on this trip!! Enjoy your day folks!! -Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
December without travel
Tanya is back from Vegas - check back for her scoop! - E
YIKES
Life is always busy, but lately it's been unusually busy. My schedule has been jam packed on the daily. I guess that's just the treadmill of my life. Maybe I'll have a chance to catch up and maybe even unpack since I don't have any major pending plans for the next month.
Can you believe that I don't have any major plans for the next month?! That's CRAZY.
But that is generally how I like to keep my December. There is already too much going on for us in the month of December that I'd rather stay put and enjoy the build up to Christmas and all that goes with it.
As you can see, my next trip doesn't depart for 38 days. The time I'm sure which will just fly right on by, especially with all of the December events on the calendar.
Speaking of which, the next event is this coming Thursday and a kickoff of our holiday season - it is our annual St. Nicholas day ornament exchange. There will be 13 of us participating in this warm the heart tradition that was started by my beloved Grandmother and carried on by us. We'll have a special dinner, sing Christmas carols and do the gift exchange and then all sit back and watch a movie together. The one thing that we won't be doing is hanging these ornaments on the Christmas tree. That being since we don't have a Christmas tree yet. Well, I'm kinda sorta ready for St. Nicholas Day. Kinda sorta. But I still have a long way to go before I'm ready for Christmas... I started my Christmas shopping waaaay back in January of this year and I still have a long way to go! Well I'm glad that I was able to quickly bop on while the day was still early, but it's time for me to get out the door and be productive. In case you missed it - I did finally blog yesterday (in the afternoon). Here is the link - Christmas time at the Bellagio in Las Vegas
Catch you guys later,
