Christmas Break Starts Today!A big hello to you! Can you believe that we are one day away from the last weekend before Christmas? That's right folks, if you haven't finished your holiday shopping, you still have some time. Today is not only Foodie Friday here on Travelin' Cousins, but it's also the last day of school for my girls so they will be starting two weeks off for the Christmas holiday! After school today, I'll be taking the kids to do some of their last minute Christmas shopping. Foodie Friday... In light of it being so close to Christmas week, I did a feature on the Rock Center Cafe in New York City: "Food with a View." I visited their last month and enjoyed it very much. The only bad news is that I am having such a hard time finding the disk I took the food photos with that day - so bummed! I know it will turn up, and when it does, I will add the pictures to the feature. Now, while I was going to talk about another Christmas To Do today, I thought it just makes sense for you to consider visiting this landmark restaurant. Depending on your flexibility with time, I would bet, it is possible to get a reservation. Well, I have a busy day ahead - going to get going. Until tomorrow and Shoppin' Saturday - hope it's a great one!! | It's the Last Friday Before Christmas!!!Howdy, and Happy Friday to all! Can you believe that Christmas will have already past in one week? Only 6 more days to go until the Big Day! Well, I hope that you didn't miss out on all of yesterdays ! SCOOP (Click the link to read more) For some reason I didn't receive my subscription email, and I'm assuming that neither do you. You are subscribing aren't you??? If you aren't, then you should be! It's super easy... And you'll get the Daily delivered straight to your inbox everyday...Soooo, that'll be great! It can be your Christmas Gift to Us! Speaking of Gifts... Have you finished all of your shopping and/or gift making yet? I've been done for a while and it's so relaxing to know that I don't have to get out there with all of the last minute shoppers. That's a bit hectic for me. I'd much rather enjoy the festivities. The kids however have a couple of gifts to still pick up, which they will get taken care of tomorrow afternoon. (Lots going on tomorrow and this weekend, so be sure to read all about it!) Going to the mall and shopping online for the holidays really is threefold for me... I love buying thoughtful gifts, and I spend a lot of time coming up with gifts that really fit each individual, and then I get super excited to hand out the gifts and see the expressions on the recipients face as they open each gift! This process of opening gifts by the way takes us several hours to get through! But this only happens once a year and so I relish in every moment of it! So #1 is that the receiver gets a great gift! #2 is that I get to enjoy them getting this great gift! And #3 is that all the while I'm shopping, I get to do lots of browsing/shopping for myself and wind up buying myself lots of goodies along the way!!! I'll let you in on something kinda funny... When I was a bit younger, say when I was around 12ish, that I would have this same shopping, gift giving process - the one where I buy myself "little" presents along the way, and back then I would also buy Christmas gifts for all of our pets. I would wrap all of the presents, the ones for the family, for the pets, and even for myself! From me to me! LOL Guess things haven't changed all that much, I just don't wrap my gifts from me to me anymore! LOL As for today... I'm taking Cosette for a horseback riding lesson, I'll be getting my hair done, and later tonight Dominic, Cosette, Dave B and I will all begin wrapping! I'll be sure to take some pictures along the way, and catch up with you guys tomorrow, for another big busy festive day and the kids last 2 performances of the season!!! Plus let's not forget that it's Foodie Friday! Read Elisa's feature on the Rock Center Cafe HERE. With lots of Love, -T |
