School Orientation, Passports & Lots of Vegan Food
Good Day! I know it's Tuesday but it feels like Monday. Ya know why? Because today Gianna had her first day of high school orientation.
Getting up so early this morning, it felt more like a Monday than a Tuesday. In any case, she made it off just fine and I'm about to start a pretty hectic day myself, which will end in a Parent Orientation meeting this evening and perhaps a trip to the gym afterwards. (That is a slim possibility, but I'm putting it out there for self motivation).
I cannot even get started on the nonsense I've had to deal with trying to renew the girls' passports. Suffice it to say, that I've been working on trying to get this renewal done for OVER A YEAR! It requires the consent of both parents when the kids are under 18, and if they cannot be present at the passport office or post office, a notarized waiver is required. Well, I think it would be easier to get a private audience with the Pope than to get what I needed to renew these documents. I'll leave it at that.
Nonetheless, I'm hoping to get what I need this week so I can run the kids over to the passport office and get the renewal going, as we'll need them for our upcoming trip to the Dominican Republic.
As you guys know, Tanya and I have been featuring Vegan Restaurants and Eateries for as long as we've been blogging.
Of course, Tanya's history with vegan food and restaurants predates mine by years. Well, we are now venturing into a whole new area of giving special recognition to those establishments that have gained Travelin' Cousins' "vegan approved" seal.
We'll be telling you more about this in the coming weeks!! Just wanted to give you guys a little sneak peak into our plans!!
Well, I'm sorry this is a short one, but I've gotta get moving!
More later, -E

CURRENTLY IN: SO CAL
NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 3 DAYS
Tanya is on her way. Her blog yesterday posted later than our email time, so I'm taking the liberty of adding the link for yesterday's blog. -E
I'm here, but only for a quick bop in. It's another early day here in SoCal, but the strange thing is that the house was hustling and bustling this morning, when usually it's just me milling and tip toeing around.
I'm about to head on outta here and take care of some errands, I need to be back by around 3:30p today which for me is super early.
Yesterday was nothing too exciting on my end. I had to fill the cabinets and fridge with groceries and then had hours upon hours of work in front of the computer. It was pretty none stop but very productive.
Later in the afternoon it was time for us to go to choir rehearsal. This has been our Monday schedule for almost 14 years!!
And since I'm in my third term at being the President of the Board of Directors, well let's just say that my duties keep me quite busy. One of them being the organization of our Quarterly Associates Meeting, which was held last night.
The meeting went off without a hitch which is always a good thing.
Choir rehearsal has become a family event since we have Cosette as an Ambassador, Dominic who is alumni as an intern within the leadership and then Dave and I who are both on the Board of Directors.
Well Cosette's throat was hurting since Sunday night, so there was no singing for her. In fact she just stayed home. She had one request before we left for Long Beach and that was getting her Ben & Jerry's non dairy Ice Cream. LOL
Alright my time is up and I've gotta get my butt in gear and get on outta here.
