Costa Rica is SO green! | Arenal Volcano & Gianna's Summer Italy Trip Days 5 & 6Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hello, Hello!! I have to say that normally, I'd be a bit jealous sitting home while two loved ones of mine are traveling the globe. But considering that i am reporting and writing all about their adventures, I sort of feel like I'm there. (ok not really, but I am having fun!) When I last left you on Tuesday, Gianna was on her 5th day in Italy and Tanya was en route to Costa Rica. Let's get a little update on Gianna for the evening of Day 5, all of Day 6 and Day 7. tomorrow will be a week (Day 8) and she will be departing lovely Italia! Day 5 - Much of the day, from what I can gather was spent relaxing, although there was a nice visit to Lake Telese or Lago di Telese if you are a local in the evening. Lago di Telese is a lake in the Province of Benevento, Campania, Italy. The lake is located in the centre of the Telesina Valley, between the Municipalities of Telese Terme and Solopaca. From the naturalistic point of view it is of fundamental importance, as it is a place of migration for numerous species of birds that inhabit its waters as well as its fish, consisting mainly of carp and largemouth bass which make this lake one of the most important sport fishing sites in the area. They enjoyed a yummy dinner at XXXX Day 6 Today I got an early morning text from Gianna about their adventure to the Royal Palace in Caserta. Originally, they were supposed to go with her friend's dad, but at the last minute, he switched plans. Now the key here is that this gentleman knows the area well, gets there quickly and SPEAKS ENGLISH. Instead, they ended up going with her friend's aunt, uncle and little girl who turned a 15-20 minute drive into close to 2 hours and they do not speak a word of English!! Needless to say, she was a bit overwhelmed by the time they arrived, only to find out that they should have gotten tickets, which meant they have to wait on numerous lines in the oppressive heat. She did not sound happy. However, she did report that the Palace, Reggia di Caserta, in Italian, was beautiful! Here are some photos from the day: COSTA RICA TIME!!! - Arenal Volcano National Park Well, there is no question (in my mind anyway) that my dear Cuz is much more adventurous than your's truly! And living up to her adventurous side, Tanya has set off for her Costa Rica adventure! I'm sure you read all about her arrival and enjoyed her videos and description of driving around the area. I thought this would be a great time to tell you all about Arenal Volcano National Park. Tanya is and will be spending some time here, taking in the natural sights, the wildlife and of course, the Adrenal Volcano!! Volcanos have always been an intriguing draw for tourists traveling around the world because they are so formidable. So to get up close and personal to them is something not to be missed. According to the official Arenal website, "Arenal is Costa Rica’s best-known volcano. It’s a stratovolcano – a large, symmetrical volcano that’s built upon layers of ash, rock and lava – and at 5,437 feet (1,657 meters), it stands high above the rest of the countryside." 12 Fun Facts About Arenal Volcano
Well, here's to another fun day of travel for Tanya!! See you back here with more information about Costa Rica next time! Till next time, -Travelin' Elisa |
