Traveling to Costa Rica by way of FLL & Kayaking in Newport Beach, CA Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: COSTA RICA Good Morning! And what a great day to be traveling…but really what day isn’t?! I am actually not yet in Costa Rica, as my travel plans had a flight connection through Fort Lauderdale and by the time we landed, it was too late to continue onward to our destination of Costa Rica and we needed to fly out this morning. I’m at the FLL international terminal now. This situation was not a problem whatsoever and you can even say predicted - as it was my choice to fly in and out of FLL as my connection rather than somewhere in Central America. And once I was checked into an airport hotel for the night, had plentiful running hot water, good plumbing, a comfortable bed to sleep in and we had made our way out to PLANTA QUEEN for a super delicious dinner - all was not lost…It was actually a win in my book! We were delighted by the menu at PLANTA QUEEN and the food did not disappoint… We were super hungry when we arrived and I was super full when we left! Each dish was so delicious that it was nearly impossible to decide on a favorite. I think I at least narrowed it down that I preferred the tapa style appetizers over the mains. Too full to order dessert, but I did get a Salted Maple Macchiato (I couldn’t help it!) AGAIN another Maple Drink that I was in heaven sipping at. I am such a SUCKER for Maple! After dinner, we took a lovely little stroll before making our way back to our hotel. This was a rather pleasant ending to what was a long day of traveling. Once we got back to our room I had realized that the one thing I forgot was a strapless bra. Not usually a big deal, as I hardly ever wear strapless dresses, etc… But I just so happen to have brought along a few cute strapless dresses to wear on the trip and now what was I to do??? Do I need to search for one in Costa Rica and take time away from our trip? Do I go without?! So, the first thing I did was search online to see if I could find a Victoria Secret or something located at the terminal. Nothing. UGH Of course it was still bothering me this morning and as we made our way to our gate, I peered inside each shop we passed. Dave then pointed out the SPANX store! I laughed at first. I have never been inside of a SPANX store. Never purchased anything from the company. Did not expect that they would even carry strapless bras. And certainly did not want my boobs flattened by a SPANX product LOL But as I glanced inside, I spotted bras hanging on the wall rack. I stepped inside and made a beeline for the bras. I found the strapless variety and inquired if it did anything “special” or was just a regular bra…Regular it was! I tried it on and all was good. This is the moment when I became that person that I have always wondered about… WHO the heck BUYS BRAS at the airport??? I guess I am that person! And now to go back at little bit further… Traveling from LAX yesterday: And now, a little recap from our day Kayaking at Newport Back Bay for Andrew's Birthday on Sunday and going to his Birthday dinner at Pura Vida in Redondo Beach. We sure worked up an appetite! And we were on our way to good food and good food was on the way to our table! After dinner, the night was still young and we made our way back to Jet/Andrew/Chaplin's place to continue the celebration and to have cake. We sang Happy Birthday sang about the Raspberry Coulis and laughed our butts off. And now it is just about time for us to board! After we land, get through customs and pick up our rental, we will be off and on our way to the La Fortuna area and stop for lunch along the way at Lands of Love. See ya in Costa Rica. Day 3 on her vacay in a nutshell in her own words:
Day 4 in Italy: Today Gianna headed off on a hike and they visited a waterfall and fresh spring. She described her adventure in her own words: "These are natural springs. the red color is from iron. it’s metallic tasting and fizzy but it’s full of a lot of healthy minerals. it comes from the mountain. the one that is not orange is the freshest water i’ve ever tasted. also from the mountain." They made their way to an area that led to a waterfall. Along the way, they this is a spot they found on the way to the waterfall. This is where Gianna took a little flop - but no worries, she did not sustain any major injury! Just a little bruise on her knee! On the way there was a castle surrounded by farmland with animals. "This is the first waterfall we went to where i fell. there was a lizard and the water was really cold but it was beautiful!" - Gianna I am just loving the Italian countryside photos!! And yet - more gelato!!! After going back to the villa, there were more yummy snacks! Next blog, I'll be bringing you more Italy AND Costa Rica where Tanya will be! Till next time, -Travelin' Elisa |
