A Toe is a Toe. Toe Talk Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Hey there! It's meeee, Travelin' Tanya, I am here! Thanks for joining us on Travelin' Cousins. And we are sure glad you made it. While I am on the last stages of prepping away for my All Signs Point to Pura Vida - Costa Rica Trip Elisa has some very fun, cool and interesting news plus some exciting travel bits to share with you today. Be sure to always check out and read both columns...otherwise you are probably missing out - plain and simple! Today is Andrew's birthday and here in SoCal, we are gonna kick off a day of celebration by going Kayaking. And while I always enjoy a good kayaking experience, I have never in my life kayaked twice in one week! We are heading to Pirate Coast Paddle in Newport Back Bay for the kayaking this morning and then on Wednesday I will be kayaking on Lake Arenal in Costa Rica! Gimme a W00P W00P With all of this kayaking... Who knows...maybe I'll go pro?! Maybe I'll be in the next Olympics!!! *Please tell me that you do realize that I am totally and 100% joking. Yesterday I went and got my hair done and just wait until you see the pictures. 'Nuf said. On Friday we had a bit of girl time at Sun Bliss for a yummy coffee meet and greet with the gals of the Fam Bam. I had the Maple Oat Milk Cold Brew and basically they should just change the name to 'The way to Tanya's heart'! *Again, I'm just kidding (I'm on a roll here) - the way to my heart is by taking my on vacation and showering me with really nice gifts! We also managed to do a little bit of one of my favorite pastimes...shopping! Then later in the evening Dominic arrived back home with a sprained pinky toe...OUCH Now for some Toe Talk.. Toe injuries pretty much suck. Not to say that other injuries are a bowl of cherries (I'm speaking from experience), but hurting your toe can feel like the end of the world. But then, when it is a legit injury - like what can you really do??? The life of a TOE...It's kinda stuck in a bad place on the body and you don't really give it the time that it needs to heal before putting it back to work. I mean unless you are a couch potato - and hey you be you. There are over 5,000 varieties of potatoes - just sayin'. Okay well I've gotta run, walk, kayak my way outta here. Have a great one and don't forget to wish Andrew a HBD. Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin Tanya PS - Check out one of the places I'm going to be in October over in Elisa's column. Until next time. Hey there, I'm just bopping on real quick here with a video upload from kayaking... Catch ya back here with more pics from the day and all the more to come. Tootles. -T | Gianna's Summer Trip to Italy| Costa Rica & Florida Trips Talk Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Hello! It's the weekend!! Here on Long Island we had meh weather. Saturday was grayish, and Sunday was dark, gloomy and raining like the dickens. Well, this week literally flew by! And believe it or not, most of the focus was, in fact on travel. I'll give you the run down... GIANNA'S ITALY TRIP - DAY 1 As I mentioned to you in our August 15th Blog, my daughter, Gianna was going on a summer trip to Italy. Well, yesterday my girl left for her first European trip all on her own. So as you can imagine the week was filled with excitement as she prepped, packed and "phreaked" a bit about leaving mama for the first time on a travel adventure! But yesterday was the big day!! Kelsey and I dropped her off at the airport for her 9-hour flight to Naples. There is no question I was proud of her venturing off on her own, but also a concerned mom about her being away from me in another country. But, truthfully, I wasn't worried - my girl has been all over the world with me since she was a bitty thing - in and out of airports, packing for herself since she was 8 years old and she has grown into a very resourceful young adult. So, I knew she would be fine. I was just going to miss seeing her bright face. Now, the reality is that these days, when someone travels, it doesn't feel as if they are "away" because of the technology to which we have all become accustomed. For example, with wifi on planes, we were able to text throughout her flight, when she landed and then throughout the night when she was settling into her villa. Certainly nothing like when I was a young adult traveling -- or just going to the store, for that matter. My first Major trip was when I would travel to Hong Kong for business in the early 90's. (You can read all about some of these adventures in ELISA'S THROWBACK CHINA TRIP ADVENTURE (circa 1991) We spoke throughout the flight, and while she was a bit squished, she had a good flight. Gianna arrived safely - said customs was a breeze and was greeted by her friends family. This poor kid was wiped out since she didn't sleep during the flight. Instead she watched a few movies and had 2 (what sounded like) enjoyable meals. Once at her friend's family's villa outside of Naples, she took a much needed nap after a yummy meal. She didn't take pictures of the home-made meal since she didn't think they would understand why she'd take photos of her food lol. And considering there were only 2 people who understood Italian, it was not going to be easy to explain how her mom does a travel blog, blah blah blah. MORE FOOD --- More to come on Gianna's Italy trip - I'll fill you in each day with info and pictures!! MORE TRAVEL TALK In addition to the excitement of Gianna's trip, I also had much to talk about with my dear Cuz, Tanya. There were two travel adventures that we needed to discuss - Tanya's upcoming Costa Rica Trip this coming week and my Florida Trip in October. Tanya's Costa Rica Trip You may be wondering why Tanya and I would need to discuss the details of her upcoming Costa Rica Trip. Well, I'll tell you why - whenever one of us travels without the other AND the other cousin is homebound at the time, we always try to tag team blog about the particular destination that the travelin' cousin is visiting. In this case, I'm the "homebound" cousin, so you can expect a full blog of facts and information about every single location that Tanya will be visiting for the next 10 days!! Make sure you check back next this coming Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for the full low-down on Tanya's trip!! Elisa's Florida Trip with Mom...and Tanya! Well, well, well!! What do you know. Tanya will be joining me and Mom in Florida for a few days of fun-filled travel adventures!! As you guys know, I had planned a trip with my Mom for October to visit our dear family friends in the Orlando area. As it turns out, Tanya will be in the area as well during this time!!! I cannot tell you how psyched I was to hear this and of course, neither of us wasted one minute chatting about my current itinerary and how Tanya would fit right into it! Here is the plan thus far (of course, things could shift a bit as we get closer to the trip).
Much more to come as I follow Tanya and Gianna on their respective trips in the coming week and the ever-evolving planning of "our" Florida trip in October!! Wishing you a wonderful Sunday!! -Travelin' Elisa |
