Last Day in Tuscan Countryside - Day 10So this is our last day in the Tuscan Countryside. We had a wonderful day!! My goal when I planned this trip, was to live like locals in Italy. For instance, in Rome, we stayed in a lovely apartment and did marketing and cooked some dinners. Here in Tuscany, we stayed in a lovely villa with a full kitchen. So, when we first arrived over the weekend, we went to the local supermarket, "PAM" to shop for some items so we could eat local dinners. For instance, staying in a little villa, we had our own kitchen, and so we visited the local supermarket, "PAM" and did a small food shopping earlier in the week. Throughout the week, both me and Gianna cooked a variety of meals. Tonight we are going to cook up the fresh butternut squash, shallots and pasta that we bought and make a delicious meal for dinner! We also had laundry facilities on the premises, so we did our laundry. Believe it or not, we had a good time with the kids, hanging the wet laundry outside on a rack, using clothes pins, which was a bit of a novelty for my spoiled, suburban daughters who thought the only way to dry clothes was with an electric dryer. So, I have to say, from the perspective of "living like locals" we have been successful so far! More tomorrow from Venice!! -E | Out at Sea - Day 10Howdy folks! I've gotta keep it short today, as I have extremely limited internet access. Dave B. and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary today! Crusing on the Emerald Princess somewhere on North Sea and heading back to Southhampton. As for Foodie Friday, I must apologize that I'm having technical difficulties and will need to publish it tomorrow. This week will be a bit different and you'll find a Saturday edition of Foodie Friday! My apologies. Promises of lots of lovely photos coming soon as well!!! Wishing you a fabulous Friday and all of my best wishes! -T |
