Bourne Movies & Shopping

Hey!  Ok, I'm still stoked from last night's movie excursion!

Finally saw Jason Bourne!!  My little thriller movie partner, Kelsey and I trekked out in the abominable heat last night to sit front and center to see the latest in the Robert Ludlum "Bourne' series.

(Of course, Mr. Ludlum passed away in 2001, so the subsequent movies after the original "The Bourne Identity" were not, in fact written by him, but inspired by the original book)

If you are not a "Bourne" fan, The Bourne Identity is a 1980 spy fiction thriller by Robert Ludlum that tells the story of Jason Bourne, a man with remarkable survival abilities who suffers from retrograde amnesia, and who must seek to discover his true identity.

It is discovered as the book/movie progress that Jason Bourne was a trained CIA assassin, part of a very clandestine operation within the department.  

Now, I have seen all four prior films, but my little partner in crime last night (Kelsey) has not, so there was some explaining here and there throughout the movie. 

If you need something to do one rainy saturday or you want to fill up a week of nightly movie watching, I definitely suggest you watch the series.
Here's a little background...

All three of Ludlum's novels were adapted for the screen, featuring Matt Damon as the title character.

1. The Bourne Identity (2002) (Doug Liman, Director)

2. The Bourne Supremacy (2004) (Paul Greengrass, Director)

3. The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) (Doug Liman, Director)

4. The Bourne Legacy (2012) (Tony Gilroy, Director)

Interestingly, Matt Damon was not in the Bourne Legacy and the character of Jason Bourne does not appear in Legacy, but mention of his name and pictures of Damon as Bourne are shown throughout the film.

5. Jason Bourne (2016) (Paul Greengrass, Director) Damon returned for the fifth installment, Jason Bourne, directed by Paul Greengrass.

What's great about these movies is that they take place all over the globe!  Running for his life, Jason Bourne moves from one city to the next in the blink of an eye on screen throughout these movies.  

From Paris, to Moscow, Germany to London,  Greece, India and Prague to name a few, the scenery is fantastic and "running" with Bourne, it feels like you've traveled around the world in two hours!


Just wondering when this humidity is going to break here in New York  It has been quite brutal.

Anyway, I think I may be more excited about Tanya's Magical Anniversary Trip coming up in three days than even her -- naaahhh, I'm sure that's not true, but I'm pretty darn close since I will be living vicariously through her travel adventures!

Of course two of my favorite cities are on her itinerary - Paris and Rome.  

I was thinking, since it is Shopping Saturday - what are the absolute BEST things to purchase in these two iconic cities.

1. Silk Scarves
2. Clothes & Shoes
3. Murano Glass
4. Food: Balsamic vinegar, olive oil, sundried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, chocolates
5. Jewelry

I'll get into more detail about specifically WHAT and WHY these are good purchases and some of the best places to acquire these, as Tanya is visiting each of these cities!!

Packing woes 

Hello there!

Yesterday, after a very long and busy day it was also a pretty late night for me.

But I can report that I have organized all of my trip wardrobe and that all of both my and Dave's clothes are packed!! YAY!

Aside from wiping myself out at the gym - which may potentially be my last visit before we leave,
I had soooooo much work to do around the house - mostly clothes related.

Since there will be many flavors on this Magical Anniversary Trip there were many different types of clothes to pack.

From Hot Days and Cool Nights, to Rainy Days and Cycling Adventures. From Photoshoots and High Tea, to Countrysides and Ferry rides.
     There are a tons of things to pack for.

And knowing me, you realize that I would never wear the same thing TWICE - not on the trip or from any previous trip to the same location!

​Nope, I'm not one of those to follow along and or give the advice to pack 2 pairs of pants, a few tops, and a dress for a months worth of travel - HECK NO

So it definitely takes some planning and plenty of time to come up with these trip wardrobes.
I say wardrobes, because I oversee everyone else's packing list. I hold the veto power and decide what will be worn on each day - so that we can best coordinate in our photographs that we will treasure for years and generations to come.
Perhaps it may be a bit extreme for the likes of most. But that is how we pack.

I do however have 2 very difficult people who I love dearly, but who drive me absolutely BATTY when it come to their packing. One being my sweetie Cosette, and the other being dear Dave.

Since my little love bug Cosette will be staying stateside with Dominic and the rest of the fam-bam, I am more so referring to Dave in this instance...

HOLY SMOKES!
How can one adult act so childish and have such an attitude about packing. He absolutely HATES the chore, and acts out while doing it! Making the experience quite excruciating and lengthy. Then he has the nerve to comment as to how long it's taking!!!! 
The thing is that he wants me to do his packing for him, and that's not gonna happen. I will sit there and advise, but I will not do the packing for him.

I know that packing is a chore, but isn't in preparation of going on vacation???
Well at least that's how I like to look at it. 
It's a step closer to take off :)

Anyhow, during all of that I also needed to figure out what I was going to wear today - we are going to an 80's concert, and on Monday - our actual anniversary. I've decide about what to wear tonight, but still not 100% on what to wear for our anniversary dinner.

I don't know if I mentioned to you about tonight's 80's Weekend Concert

As a child of the 80's, lovin' and playing the music from that era the kids are also know every tune and we are all totally stoked! 

​Taking us back to the days of Rubik's Cubes, Aqua Net, Pacman, VHS & Cassette Tapes. 

The awesome line up includes:
​Live on stage with The Human League, Thompson Twins' Tom Bailey, Marc Almond of Soft Cell, Berlin, Missing Persons, A Flock of Seagulls, Men Without Hats, The Original When in Rome UK, Modern English, Dramarama & Animotion, it will definitely be a night to remember with rad 80's tunes and totally awesome vibes.

Something else that I'm doing to day for the first time is going to get eyelash extensions!!!

We'll see how I like them, but I figured that they'd be a time saver for the trip.
While my sisters, brother, and children have all been blessed with gorgeous long eyelashes, it is almost as though I was born from another set of parents or from a different era when eyelashes were all short! LOL

Anyhow, I'll let you know how it goes. It's takes around 2 freakin' hours to get done. So I'll be sitting there with my eyes closed for a while - I kinda hope that I doze off, because otherwise I'm gonna be bored bored bored.

Dominic also decided to go to class today, since he'll be missing several days while I'm away, and then since it's Shopping Saturday I've also got to go shoe shopping with Dave (to be honest I needed to go shopping anyway even if it weren't Saturday. lol)

Dave needs a new pair for the trip and I need a few new pairs of flats...
I guess I keep buying myself heels and/or sporty spice shoes! LOL

We'll be having dinner up in LA at the Grand Central Market before rockin' the night away!

Oh and speaking of dinner and food, I decided to make some homemade pizzas last night - I churned out 6 pies and I'm not one to rave - but damn were they GOOD!
