More to come!!! As far as yesterday went, Chaplin had a little recital at a local summer fundraiser/fair. It was HOT. It was only 87F and I know that it is waaaaay hotter in so many other places in this world. But I am so fickle with the heat that it was way too hot for me and I desperately needed to find my way back to some delightful air conditioning! And today as per the usual in an Italian Family, on Sundays you will always find us enjoying family time and having a great big delicious pasta dinner together. Buon Appetito! Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya | Italian Foodie Friday Night & The Secrets to High VIBE™ Wellness Elisa's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY IN: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Well Hello There! Yup - here we are on Sunday (instead of Saturday). Both Tanya and I just had time slip away from us. As you have read, Tanya had some fun Fam Bam stuff yesterday. I actually, have been battling a killer sinus headache for a few days. But, we're back here at the end of the weekend! Needless to say, I didn't have much of an exciting weekend, but I did have an amazing Italian Dinner on Friday night!! There is a local restaurant here on Long Island, which actually has a tremendous history in Little Italy in lower Manhattan, New York City. Vincent's Clam Bar has its origins in New York's Little Italy in downtown Manhattan where it was founded in 1904. by Giuseppe and Carmela Siano who emigrated from Italy with hopes of creating a better life for their son Vincent. At the corner of Hester and Mott Streets is where the "Original Vincent's Clam Bar is still located, which gained fame and a following for their delicious seafood and world famous sauce. Lucky for me, my girls and many others that live on Long Island, the Vincents Clam Bar experience can be enjoyed right in Carle Place in Nassau County. We love this place so much that we often take advantage of their amazing $15.99 lunch specials. The ambiance of Little Italy is felt upon entering - with the music of singers like Frank Sinatra, old world decor, the friendly and personal wait staff and of course, the incredible food served up in oversized portions! This past Friday was gray, rainy and dreary and mid-afternoon I said to Kelsey, "Hey what about if we get take-out from Vincents?" We'd never taken advantage of their family dinner special and I thought, it was the perfect night for an uplifting Italian meal. Gianna, who usually goes out right after work, just happened to be coming home for dinner and she was psyched to join us in our plan for a little Italian feast! The Dinner Special is a pretty darn good deal! The "Family Meal To Go" feeds a family of four to five and is priced at $49.95. Honestly, with the price of eating out these days, this is truly a great deal! You get a choice of a Pasta, A Salad or Vegetable and an Entree. Each item is served in a half tray, and comes with bread. I must say, although it was our first time indulging in this special, I'm pretty sure we will be doing many more times! We opted for the Rigatoni with Mild Tomato Sauce, Caesar Salad and for the girls, Chicken Parmisana. We were pretty much like vipers once the food was out and didn't even get photos of ourselves eating!! How awful for a blogger! With today being Sunday, I'll be heading out early for brunch with Kelsey. Still not sure where, but I'll tell you all about it in our next blog post!
