Elisa's Daily Scoop Memories of VeniceGood day to you! First I need to tell you just how strange things were yesterday... I wrote my blog prior to Tanya writing her's and signed off, thinking "Ok, I'm all done." The next thing I know, I get a text and an email from Tanya asking me if everything is okay since I hadn't written my blog yet. I say, "What?!! I wrote it earlier and saved it!" But for some reason, it just disappeared. It was so upsetting. So, with very little time left before our emailing time, I bang out my blog all over again and as fate would have it, I actually made it in time! I do hope you enjoyed reading it yesterday and some of the fun things happening this month in an around New York for my W2GW segment. How about a few Throwback Thursday travel memories today? I know it's only two years ago, but this month in 2014, me and my girlies were traveling through Italy for just about the entire month of August. It was one of the most wonderful trips of my entire life and one that I had planned for a number of years. I decided to start in Rome and work my way north. My itinerary and daily blogs were very informative and I welcome you to read each entry HERE. One of my absolute favorite cities visited was Venice!! Here are the links to our five days in Venice: Day 1: August 16th Day 2: August 17th Day 3: August 18th Day 4: August 19th Day 5: August 20th Venice is truly a magical city. Just the idea that it is surrounded by water and canals envelop the entire place is brilliant! Just walking around and getting lost in the city is an adventure. And of course, there are the iconic sites and things to do such as a gondola ride, the Rialto Bridge and a walk around San Marco Plaza. One morning I awoke early while my little group was asleep and took a stroll around, snapping pictures of the gondolas lining up. It was magical. The next day, me and the girls embarked on a scheduled 2-hour tour counting lion images and statues around Venice. As you may or may not know, the winged Lion is the symbol of St. Mark, the patron saint of Venice. My next trip to Italy will be to the south of the country, where my family hails. Namely, Calabria and the island of Sicily. I'm hoping it will be within the next couple of years! And I'm also looking forward to it being with my dear cuz, Tanya! Last night... ...we had an interesting night last night. Late in the afternoon, Kelsey was complaining of a stomach ache. I told her to drink a bit of seltzer, in hopes that it would calm her belly. Anyway, she went out to dinner with her dad and Gianna and the next thing I know, I get a text from Gianna that Kelsey threw up. Oh no! Well, when she got home I found out she had eaten chicken nuggets and fries but moreover, she gulped down a chocolate chip milkshake. I'm assuming that put her over the edge. The good news is, when she got home, she reported that she felt much better. So, that made me happy since it was not viral, and probably just an upset stomach from eating too much. Whew! Today, we are having a barn day, the second day this week. We took a break yesterday, but back in the saddle today! Hope it's a great one!! -E xoxo | Tanya's Daily Scoop |
