Rob Thomas redo
Hello folks!
It just doesn't feel like a Tuesday to me.
We've got 3 days before we leave for NYC and then Europe and I still have a ton to do before being "ready".
Yesterday was busy and I didn't get back home until midnight. Today is another busy day, but at least I've got my hair appointment this afternoon. And then Dave B. and I have tickets to the Rob Thomas concert later tonight.
Who knows if I will recognize any of his latest music. LOL
When I saw the opportunity of him being in concert and it being an open night in my calendar - I had jumped on the opportunity! Ya see, many moons ago, before Dominic was born, Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20 were in town and I had wanted to go to the concert. But being that Dave C. was being a party pooper and I didn't have anyone else to go with - I opted to skip it. That would never happen these days. And such this concert is kinda like a make-up concert...20 years later. Well me time has come. At least I managed to bop on. Be sure to read all that Elisa has shared about Slovenia. Did you know that I have Slovenia on my calendar along with Croatia for this year??? Ciao 4 Now, -Travelin' Tanya |
11 Fun Facts about Slovenia, the World's Most Sustainable Country
Good day!
It was back in 2015, that Tanya and I were getting ready to go on our amazing European Rail Trip
Starting off in Prague and making our way through five cities in five countries (Prague, Czech Republic; Krakow, Poland: Budapest, Hungary; Bratislava, Slovakia and Vienna, Austria) over 15 days, it was one of the greatest travel adventures we ever enjoyed!!
For me, it was my second visit to both Prague and Vienna and Tanya's first. However, Tanya has since returned to both of these historic cities. I cannot sing the praises enough about Eastern Europe! I just love it, and my plan is to return again, and include the country of Slovenia on my itinerary.
Interestingly enough, Slovenia was recently named the planet’s most sustainable country in 2016,
Accoriding to National Geographic, "Slovenia has scores of protected reserves and parks across a rolling topography dense with around 22,000 recorded flora and fauna species. More than half the land is covered in forests." This small country, approximately the size of New Jersey was founded in 1991, one of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, and is located in southern Central Europe at a crossroads of important European cultural and trade routes. It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Croatia to the southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the southwest.
Jana Apih, a partner and founder at Good Place, a Ljubljana-based travel agency and institute dedicated to sustainable tourism. says, "Slovenians have always been closely connected to the land, Throughout history, we were more or less peasants; the land was key to our survival. I usually say we have a green DNA because the worst thing a Slovenian can think of is to destroy nature. That is why nearly 40 percent of Slovenia is under some kind of protection.”
11 FUN FACTS ABOUT SLOVENIA
Tonight, I'll be heading to the movies with the girls to see our second film of the summer, MIB: International. We love to take advantage of Discount Tuesdays at AMC Theaters. They recently changed from $5 Tuesdays and raised the price to $6, which pretty much annoyed me.
But, I guess in light of the cost of movies these days, it's still a bargain. I'll give you the Scoop tomorrow! -Toodles, Travelin' Elisa xoxo |
