After Christmas Sales
I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and that Santa Claus brought you everything you wished for!
Well, as you might have gathered from following my blogs for the past seven months I'm a pretty no-nonsense kinda gal. I enjoyed Christmas; but now it's over. So, time to move on and the best way to do that is to hit the stores and all of those post-Christmas sales!!
Last night I got a text from one of my besties, Maria, informing me that Lord & Taylor was opening up at 7AM and did I want to pound the shopping pavement with her. Do you think I had to hesitate?
I then proceeded to tell Denise and as a result, me and my girlfriends met up at 7AM this morning at Lord & Taylor, said good morning and then went our separate ways like bats out of hell to shop!!
I did very well, I got two skirts, a cute sweater, a great pair of Adrienne Vittadini boots, an adorable Betsey Johnson Coat. What made the sale even better was the fact that they were handing out $20 coupons (for purchases over $40)!
I finally walked in the house at 9AM, with al of my shopping bags and a big smile on my face. YAY!! I love a great bargain!!
The rest of my day is a continuation of self-indulgence. Off to get my hair colored and a few highlights. Everyone has commented that they like my hair dark, but I'm thinking that just a few strategically placed highlights will perk things up a bit.
Tonight I'm planning to simply hang out with the kids, maybe watch a movie and relax.
December 26th has traditionally been celebrated around the world as "Boxing Day." It was the day when servants and tradespeople would receive gifts, known as a "Christmas box", from their bosses or employers in the United Kingdom,Barbados,Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Kenya, South Africa, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and other Commonwealth nations.
Today, Boxing Day is the bank holiday that generally takes place on 26 December. Here is how it is celebrated around the world:
* South Africa renamed it "Goodwill Day" in 1994.
* Roman Catholics celebrate it as St. Stephen's Day as does Italy, Finland, Alsace and Moselle, France.
* Germany, Scandinavia, Poland & The Netherlands celebrate it as "Second Christmas Day
However, you celebrate today - ENJOY yourself!!
See you back here to tomorrow!!!
It's a Relaxing Boxing Day
Well Howdy Everyone!
I had a MAGICAL Christmas and sure hope that you did too!
And one of the days that I also look forward to happens to be Boxing Day!
This is the day that I can truly relax and really enjoy all of my wonderful gifts, not to mention eat more yummies!
We spent 7 hours opening gifts yesterday! Yup, you read that correctly 7 hours of non-stop gift giving!!!
And then I went straight into the kitchen to continue my cooking quest!
Dinner was delicious!!!
Not to pat myself on the back, but everyone had really out did themselves on extra helpings, until they just couldn't take another bite!
Their tastebuds wanted more, but nothing else would fit into their very packed tummies!
Today will be another day of eating, enjoying each others company and playing with our presents!
And unlike Elisa, I throughly enjoy stretching out Christmas for as long as I can!
I love shopping and I love great deals/bargains, but I bought all of my "self to self" gifts (which I love) during each of my Christmas shopping excursions!
And boy oh boy did I treat myself well!
I just can't deal with shopping amongst the bargain hunters and the aftermath of the stores.
It really super stresses me out and when this hits...no matter what awesome finds I may have collected along the way, I have to drop them all and just leave!
It's like having a stress bomb go off!
So I don't even bother, and I forgo all of the great sales. Boo.
I wish that I could do it, but it just never turns out well for me.
But I admire all the great deals that are to be had, and I just love all of the new goodies that Elisa found for herself! Such deals and so sooooo cute!!
Maybe I could find some online sales!!!
Anyhow, however you decide to spend your day, spend it well!
