Cruising Around Tahiti and Her IslandsĀ

My trip to Tahiti was one of the best experiences I had in a long time. The route well planned and the scenery spectacular. I had wanted to visit Tahiti for several years and when I finally planned everything, I decided to ask two of my friends to come along with me and share this adventure.

The best option for us was the intimate cruise trip, because this way we were able to make our own plans while traveling from one point to another. I feel lucky we could take a sneak peak into this unique part of the world.

Moorea
This island is very close to Tahiti, so we decided to go there and explore it. It is often said that she is one of the most scenic islands in French Polynesia. We had an amazing experience during the first day on the island an encounter with dolphins at the Moorea Dolphin Center, where we could swim along side the animals and even play with them since they are often quite friendly.
We reserved the second day for skydiving since I wanted to see the whole island from above with its golden lagoons and luscious forests. This adventure really got all three of us exhausted, so from here we decided to relax on the island of Bora Bora.

To go to Bora Bora, you need to take a flight from Tahiti that takes around 45 minutes or embark on a ferry. When we landed at the small airport we were unsure what to expect, but when we saw the vast blue sea and its shades of blue, we immediately knew that we came to the right place.
The Bora Bora lagoon is surrounded with lots of motus, small sandy islands where most of hotels are settled. I tried my best to find a room in one particular luxury resort so we could have a good use of the spa and have daily massages. Our room had a special view of Mount Otemanu and its high peak which is awe-inspiring in the evenings.
For me, Bora Bora is truly a symbol of paradise. The sandy beaches, lagoons and crystal clear water are enchanting. I am an adventurer myself, but when I am in a place so captivating I just want to relax completely and swim all day long. My friends had tried out some

extra activities
, like jet skiing and going on a quad bike island tour to see the island in a different light.

The Leeward Islands
Since islands Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa and Maupiti are clustered about 200 km north of Tahiti, they are only half a day’s sailing apart. The best way to see and explore all of them was to leave the hotel room and move on to a boat. My friends suggested to try out some of the Tahiti cruise packages and for five days we were blissfully sailing through stunning coral reefs and exploring small lagoons.
Spending our time on the wonderful yacht was the most exciting part of our trip since it allowed us to be close to the sea, hence to spend our evenings on the deck looking at the sparkly, wavy water. Every day we were someplace else, swimming and scuba diving to discover the vivid underwater life.
Tahiti and her islands are one of those exotic destinations where you can really kick back and relax.
For me, this is not a specified destination where only honeymooners and adventure travel enthusiasts can enjoy, but also a great starting point to do something different, experience new cultures and gain memories that will last for a lifetime!
