Margarita Grille: Mexican Flair in Westhampton Beach

This week, my friend Lisa and I decided to have lunch at Margarita Grill, in Westhampton Beach, with our daughters after a long morning of shopping for Horseback Riding gear. With my summer residence in Remsenburg, located about ten minutes from the town of Westhampton Beach, most of my leisure time, including eating out is spent in this East End beach village.
One of my regular dining spots,  is Margarita Grille.

Conveniently located on Main street, the restaurant's open air front patio is, in my opinion, one of its best attributes.  Who doesn't love to dine al fresco particularly in a beach community!  A sidewalk hostess station welcomes diners and gives it stand-out curb appeal amidst the other merchants along the street. It was a gorgeous, sunny day, and since it was mid-day, we opted to sit under the awning. The atmosphere here is relaxed and upbeat, and the outdoor seating area is perfect for people watching. The restaurant attracts a mixed clientele from families with kids of all ages and adults ranging from twenty-something and upward. The ambiance is casual and laid back and the wait staff is young, energetic and friendly. And for those who prefer dining indoors, don't fear, seating is available inside, complete with a lively bar area, tv's and even a fireplace, providing a cozy dining experience in the cooler weather.

I'm not sure if it's the fun of eating outside or the crispy chicken fingers and fries, or the unending supply of chips and salsa, but my girls have always loved eating at Margarita's. For Kelsey, my seven year old, who is a very picky eater, and will only eat "certain" chicken fingers, I'm confident she will enjoy her meal when we come here. Gianna, 10, will go back and forth between ordering the chicken fingers and the Taco Salad, filled with greens, black beans, cheese in a giant red tortilla bowl. This visit, my girls and Lisa's 10 year old all ordered the chicken fingers and fries, which they pretty much polished off.

CRISPY CHICKEN TACOS
I have dined here so many times over the past ten years, that I was already craving their Crispy Chicken Tacos on the drive over, and that is exactly what I ordered! After Lisa, her adult daughter, Brianna and I  ate our way through two bowls of the complementary chips and salsa, our food arrived. I guess you could call it a chicken kind of day, because the three of us all ordered  a menu item with chicken.  Served with a side of rice and beans, my tacos arrived on a soft tortilla with crunchy, red cabbage and pecan crusted chicken, topped with a mango salsa. Delicious, as usual! Brianna ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap which contained toasted croutons in a tomato wrap, and a side of the crispy fries, which Lisa kept stealing!  Lisa's order of Chicken Fajitas arrived sizzling hot and the distinctive aroma reminded us all we were in a Mexican eatery .

The menu has a varied offering with a cross section of salads, traditional Mexican items like burritos, tacos served with a choice of meat, chicken or fish options, and there were enough vegetarian choices as well. The Lobster Roll is one of my husband's favorites! The entire back side of the menu is dedicated to a full selection of beer and alcoholic beverages. Though I did not indulge in any alcoholic libations at this child-friendly lunch, I can report from previous visits, that their frozen Margaritas are quite delectable. Our bill for a six person lunch was just under $80, which in my opinion is a pretty good value.

Good food, reasonably priced with a quintessential Hamptons feel, Margarita Grill is my choice over and over for relaxed, casual dining!
