Cornbread Cafe - it's a MUST Go! And thank me later..

Holy wow! Let me just start by sayin that the food here is flippin ridiculous! 
I say that with the most deepest sincerity. And if you don't realize how high of a compliment that is it's basically saying that this place is off the chart!

I basically came to Eugene, Oregon just so that I could find and eat at this adorable little country diner. 
The place had good reviews and a yummy sounding menu, plus it didn't only offer vegan options - the entire place was vegan! 

So regardless of how far out of my way it might've been - consider me going!

And that was all before tasting the food that totally wowed both me and the kids!!! 
Knocked our socks off!

So the way I eat my food is that I taste everything before deciding my plan of attack!

Once I've sampled everything I usually save the best (my favorite) for last... 

Well, once I tasted everything that I had ordered I had some serious trouble deciding what I should do... Everything was absolutely wonderful!

I didn't want to finish any one thing ahead of anything else. This was a conundrum. 
I eventually continued to take a bite out of everything until my plate was clean, and even though I was full it was so good I was left wanting more!!!

And I wasn't the only one - the kids were in love with this place. It is definitely a vegan must go and even if you're not vegan I highly suggest that you go!!!

And that was exactly what Guy Fieri did! This restaurant was the first ever all vegan restaurant that Guy Fieri and Diners Drive Ins and Dives had ever been to!
But I had no idea about this bit of Foodie Fame until arriving their for dinner on this evening.

Katie was our server and she is just the warmest, sweetest thing and most knowledgeable staff member ever! She would deserve employee of the month if it were up to me! 
She handled several tables with the utmost of ease. Never losing her cool, maintaining a naturally friendly attitude, and making each table feel right at home with her inviting personality! 

After our scrumptious meal, Katie had checked in with us to ask about dessert...
Do you think we were gonna skip dessert after how happy we were with dinner?! I think not!

Cosette and I had our eyes on a chocolate banana cream pie, that was wonderfully creamy and delicious! 
While Dominic had the very original house speciality Fried Cheesecake. Wow that was good! Nothing like I expected, but sooooo much better.

Between dinner and dessert we found a sure winner!

While paying our bill, I had discussed the Travelin' Couins website and Guy Fieri's visit with Katie. 
She had told me about the outpouring of love that this diner has received since the August 2014 visit. 

People from all over the country have come to this sleepy little town all with one thing on their mind - trying the fantastic food at Cornbread Cafe! 
And if I had seen this Diners Drive-Ins and Diners episode, or known how good (awesome) the food was before this visit - I would've been one of those food fanatics to fly up just for the meal!

They serve brunch too & it looks just amazing! 

There's no question about it that I will be returning to Eugene for the sole purpose of eating at The Cornbread Cafe!
