Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: HAWAII
The Top 6 Must Do Activities in Maui!
Howdy everyone! So glad to meet you back here!
Can you believe that it's already hump-day and that it's already our 6th day on this Hawaiian Vacation?! Certainly doesn't feel like it.
We have just been having a bLASt!
Yesterday was just spent keeping busy around the resort. The kids slept a bit later, and we went to the pool, we chatted it up with the parrots in the lobby-
Went to the gym (yes even on vacation!), went to the beach, saw a rainbow, and then...
We lucked out and had an awesome view of Huaka'i - Journey through Polynesia - from our balcony!
We enjoyed watching the cultural dances & music of Hawaii and Polynesia.
And today will be no different in terms of fun!
We are starting our day with an early morning Coastal Walk Tour where we will learn about the native Hawaiian plants. And since we'll be on the sand bright and early, the kids will probably want to mess around in the surf!!
After lunch we scheduled a photo shoot - hopefully we get some nice pictures!
All of that will be before our rescheduled horseback riding tour that was cancelled on Monday morning (due to very muddy trails).
We'll head to Lahaina after the ride and grab a nice refreshing frosty treat! Still debating whether it should be another Dole Whip, Hawaiian Ice, or Gelato...Decisions Decisions!
And while in Lahaina, we'll also go pick up the pictures with the parrots that we took yesterday before Dave left.
Since it's W2GW and I'm in Maui, I though I'd give you my TOP 6 MUST DO Activities in Maui!

Catch y'all later :) -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 9 DAYS
W2GW in da Bronx
A Big Hello as we hit mid-week!
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of Tanya and her gang this week - soaking up the sun and having island adventures in Hawaii!
Have you been following her daily blog?
One of the reasons we blog about our travels is so that you can take from our trips any and all things we've done and re-create them for your own fabulous journey to which ever destinations appeal to you!
So far, my favorite adventure of Tanya's from this current Hawaii trip was the Road to Hāna day trip.
The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of Hawaii Routes 36 and 360 which connects Kahului with the town of Hāna in east Maui.
I cannot wait to make this drive and see the many scenic sights along the way. The Twin Falls is at the top of my list!

Here we are at W2GW (Where To Go Wednesday) and I want to tell you about something that piqued my interest.
As you may know from my previous blogs, I went to college in the Bronx at Fordham University. The Bronx was my home for four years at that time, and it was also the place that much of my extended family settled upon arriving in the United States from Italy and for years after.
I know that Manhattan always gets a great deal of focus when talking about travel and sightseeing (and with good reason!), but I wanted to chat about one of the outer boroughs today - da Bronx!
Here are my Top 5 Things to Do in da Bronx
1) New York Botanical Gardens 2900 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10458 (718) 817-8700 www.nybg.org The Gardens are right across the street from Fordham University and what a great place to spend the day, regardless of the season! Visit one of the gardens for the sheer beauty or enjoy one of the many exhibits.
With the holiday season upon us, the Holiday Train Show will be on display November 21, 2015- January 18, 2016. I took the girls last year, and what a delight it is!! Don't miss it this year!
3) The Bronx Zoo 2300 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10460 (718) 367-1010 www.bronxzoo.com The Bronx Zoo is among the largest metropolitan zoos in the world, and one of the largest in North America. With natural enclosures for animals to roam, there are some 4,000 animals representing about 650 species from around the world.
I took my girls a few years ago and we spent the full day walking through this 265 acre park with its naturalistic habitats. Great way to spend a fall day!
4) The Bronx Walk of Fame E. 138th Street to E. 161st Street, Bronx, NY This is something totally fun to do!! On The Bronx Walk of Fame, street plaques bear the names of famous people from the Bronx.
Each year, new inductees are honored during the Bronx Week celebration.
There are 90 people here, including Rita Moreno, Irene Cara, Chaz Palminteri, Willie Colon, Regis Philbin, Tony Orlando, Red Buttons, Gary Marshall, Stanley Kubrick, Colin Powell, Daniel Schorr, Luther Vandross and Danny Aiello. For a list of all 101 Bronx Walk of Fame inductees CLICK HERE.
5) Edgar Allan Poe Cottage Poe Park Grand Concourse at Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10458 718 881 8900 www.bronxhistoricalsociety.org The Edgar Allan Poe Cottage is the former home of American writer Edgar Allan Poe. It is located on Kingsbridge Road and the Grand Concourse in The Bronx. The cottage is restored to its original appearance, with authentic period furnishings.
I plan on having a Bronx day and visiting The Poe Museum during the next few weeks!! I'll keep you posted!! I'll be talking more about this borough going forward!
Well, folks, have a great day - not much sunshine out here on Long Island, but I'm making my own sunshine!
