HEY THERE! What a happy day it is in our house today!!!
IT'S KELSEY'S 10TH BIRTHDAY!

Here's how it went...
I had a scheduled c-section for September 14, 2006. When I arrived at the hospital with my little two year old Gianna, I hadn't even experienced one labor pain.
Mind you, I was full term with this little peanut. The doctor had estimated that the baby's weight was about 6 lbs, similar to my first (Gianna, btw, weight in at 6 lbs 3 oz).
So, the nervous wreck that I was (I hate the numb feeling after they give you the spinal - they say it's supposed to numb you from the waist down, but it doesn't - it makes you numb all the way up to your chest and for a hypochondriac like me, that's not a good thing, since I couldn't feel myself breathing and thought I was dying the whole time).
Anyway, I was wheeled into the Operating Room at 12 noon - I remember since the National Anthem was playing on the Long Island radio station, which they do every day at noon - and by 12:20, my little sweetie, Kelsey was born into the world.
Of course, Mom was still a wreck, wondering if I was going to die any minute, but was immediately sobered upon hearing the nurse declare that her weight was 4 lbs 10 oz!
She was a total peanut and yet she was full term.
The bad news was that they had to do all necessary testing to be sure she was ok since her birth weight was low The good news is, even though she was under 5 lbs, because she was full term, she was allowed to leave the hospital with Mommy!!

I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was to have, yet, another little girl.
My world literally felt complete at the moment of her birth.
And from that day, my little baby has grown into a joyous, intelligent, clear-thinking, articulate and beautiful young lady - inside and out!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEY MOMMY LOVES YOU TO THE MOON & BACK!
Yesterday, I went out and picked up a mini ice cream cake at Baskin Robbins for a mini celebration for me, Gianna and Punkin to have with her after school today.
Since her birthday fell on a Wednesday and that is her dad's visitation night she will be going out to dinner this evening with him.
We'll have our family celebration tomorrow night.
I also got my butt out of bed super early today and made a Dunkin' Donuts run to get donuts for Kelsey to bring into class.

It's really going to be a week of celebrating for this milestone birthday...since I'm sure she will want to bring some goodies to the barn on Saturday for her riding buddies.
Then Sunday, we will be heading to Adventureland with a group of her friends, where the party will continue!!
Just crossing my fingers for good weather on Sunday - cool temps and lots of sun.

After getting the girls off to school (Kelsey with her donuts!), I'm going to do some packing of stuff around the house for the VA and then begin another organizational project.
By that time, my girls should be home and it will be time to celebrate Kelsey's 10th Birthday!!
Even Punkin was excited about Kelsey's Birthday!!

It's a busy day for me so I'm gonna head out. Oh, did I mention I had gotten Kelsey a MacBook Pro for her birthday back in May (gave it to her early) and her Dad got her a phone. Electronically, this kid is pretty well set, as far as I can tell!!
Have a great day!!

Great times with Kelsey
First and foremost I want to wish my sweet dear little cousin Kelsey a most Happy 10th Birthday!
Happy Hump Day to everyone else!
I've been over here scouring the internet and still trying to decide on what excursions to do while in the Bahamas. I think I might have finally narrowed it down to a few.
I was also online looking at what's new for vegans at this years Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. And the answer is not much (insert sad face here). They pretty much have about the same amount of offerings as they did back in 2012. Not sure where the progress was there??
Anyhow since not finding much at the booths, I figured that I'd make dinner reservations for our group, and guess what I found - nothing available at the restaurant that I was trying at (Coral Reef), so at that point I adjusted the group size, still nothing. UGH Then I figured why don't I try for lunch and then we can all nosh at the booths for dinner. Well that kinda sorta worked, except that I couldn't get a table for larger than 5, and I think we are at least 11 on that day. So we'll see what happens and if I keep the reservation.
Also while Assateague Island (the one with the wild ponies) is fresh in my mind, I took a looksie and we will be able to make a visit in June!
Speaking of ponies and horses, Cosette had her horseback riding lesson yesterday - the first since I've was gone on my Magical Anniversary Trip, and luckily she hadn't missed a beat and did a wonderful job out there. But my poor baby was a bit pooped afterward.

But before I leave I wanted to share with you some fun memories in pictures that I have of the birthday girl!
