Getting to Know Travelin' Cousins more...Hello my peeps!! Are you looking forward to this weekend as much as I am? I have a packed three days. First of all, for all of you who have been following my little saga with Kelsey's back to school shoes. WE finally hit success at the Stride Rite in the Roosevelt Field Mall. Not only did Kelsey find the same shoes that she had last year (which fit her perfectly) in her size, but she also found an adorable pair of "F-Uggs" (Fake Uggs) that I treated her to!! The best is that we were in and out in like 20 minutes! So, continuing my "getting to know your Travelin' Cousins" website review, I'd like to to point our some more fun and interesting pages today. Elisa's Throwback China Adventure (circa 1991) I was so excited to share with you my trip of a lifetime to China back in the day, so I decided to break up my week long trip into a series of stories for Throwback Thursdays. I've already published Part 1 and Part 2 with Part 3 coming next Thursday If you have missed any of them, don't fret, there is now a page on the site where you can find the whole series as they become available! As for today - Foodie Friday - I hope you enjoy my story about Cafe Mambo in Westhampton! It's one of my favorites!!! Happy Friday and here's to a great weekend. See you back here tomorrow! -E | TGIFIt's finally Friday! Woo to the Hoo! I've been so out of sorts since returning from my trips that I just feel like although this was only a 4 day workweek - that the weekend has taken extra long to finally arrive! Not really sure why I care all that much. It's not like I'm at work all week and get the weekend off. In fact I have more to do this weekend than I've had to do all week long! The kids have an extra choir rehearsal tonight for a special Patriot's Day (9/11) performance that they will be singing at. To make it fun, the IPC has decided that immediately following rehearsal they will have a social game night / dinner event. I'm pretty sure that Dominic and Cosette are both looking forward to this. On other note, I feel like I've been missing my tea time. I enjoyed it so much while in the UK. I've decide that I'm going to incorporate it here at home. But, gotta go shopping first! And in the meantime; tonight I was thinking that I might go and find a good cup of tea while the kids are rehearsing. I'll let you know how this goes.. On the travel side of things: I have to get cracking on our Iceland itinerary! So many fun things in store! Have you ever been to Iceland? If so, I'd love to hear about your trip and any advice that you might have for a first timer! I also decided that I'm gonna take the kids back to Hawaii next year! Along with all of the other trips that I've got planned! Have you checked out our upcoming trips tab yet? And finally, with our Travelin' Cousins NM trip right around the corner. Elisa and I have to continue working on the details of our New Mexico Road Trip, and I have to work on the details of the beginning and end of that same road trip that will be just me and the kids (Dave B. will join us for the later). We'll definitely be hitting some of our nations beautiful National Parks along our drive! Speaking of which, have you read yesterday's Throwback Thursday? It's filled with pictures from Utah's most popular National Park - Zion NP. So much fun to be had doing what you love! For me it's traveling, for you it might be something else... But whatever it is I encourage you to find that something and pursue it! Follow your dreams and don't let any naysayer stand in your way! Stop doing things that don't bring you joy. Take control of yourself and of your life. There is a way! And if you have the will, then you will find a way! There are no valid excuses! Meet me back here tomorrow for more of what I have to say! Until then, I wish you a great day! -T |
