Embracing my Inner Shopping BeastSunny, sunny, sunny Saturday here on Long Island!!! I am amazed at how my entire mood is uplifted when the sun is shining! Now, while Tanya and Dominic are transforming into gladiator beasts today, I'm sitting here focused on my inner Shopping Beast for Shopping Saturday!!! I have to admit, I'm not much of the rough and tumble kinda gal and I do admire my dear cousin for her enthusiasm and love for all things wild and crazy physical! YOU GO GIRL!! So, before I go any further (and I promise, I will return to my shopping agenda!), this weekend is a big deal at Dream Come True Farm, where Gianna and Kelsey ride. Not only is today the annual Halloween Parade, where both rider and horse get dressed up! But, tomorrow is a going to be a Halloween Festival and Craft Fair - a first for this great riding farm. I'll be headed back to the barn later this afternoon to watch the parade - unfortunately, I will have to post pictures tomorrow since this Daily will already be published. Ok, back to Shopping! Usually, Tanya and I each have our individual thoughts to share here on The Daily Scoop, but today, we are actually posting about online shopping. Being internet junkies, we both shop incessantly online! Are you an online shopper? I know some people get worried about the hacking that goes on, most recently it was Staples and last year we had a situation with Target come to light. But, overall, I just find the benefits outweigh the negatives. I will actually be doing some online shopping later for a few Christmas gifts, and some food from a few of my favorite organic specialty retailers. Benefits of Shopping online * Can Shop Anywhere Whether using your laptop, desktop or mobile device, you can browse and purchase anything and everything you need! I've done some of my best shopping waiting at the bus stop for my kids, in the car as a passenger on long rides, and in the comfort of my bed late at night when everyone is fast asleep! * The ultimate time saver Now, I love going to the mall, browsing and having the in-person touch and feel experience. But, for those times when time is an issue, there is nothing that compares to shopping online. You can visit multiple stores in minutes, comparison shop and check-out in no time. * Wish Lists When shopping online, have you ever used an online retailer's wish list? It's really a fantastic tool. You can save things to your list for later reference and you can also share your wish list with others. This, particularly comes in handy at birthday and holiday time. You can send your hubby or boyfriend the things you really want or have your kids make a wish list to share with the family for Christmas gifts - all from your favorite stores! * Racking up Points & Cash Back And last but not least, what about all those store points you can accumulate for coupons and cash coupons, as well as racking up the cash back by going through sites like Ebates to access your favorite retailers. Travel retailers such as Booking.com, Orbitz, Living Social, RentalCars.com and so many others offer cash back through EBATES. Tanya and I both love Ebates. We both receive our cash back checks quarterly for purchases we would have made anyway. So, why not get some cash back in the process! Well, my friend - enjoy this lovely day. I can't wait to hear all about Tanya and Dominic, the Gladiators!!! Oh, and don't forget to vote for us today!! ------------------------------------------>>>>>> -E | Time to Release the Inner BeastWell, well, well it's the Saturday that we've all been looking so forward to for months and months and months! The day that Dominic and I become Gladiators! No, I'm not talking about dressing up and wearing costumes (although I'm sure, as always there will be a few of those warriors out there as well!) What I'm talking about is getting down and dirty - potentially very very dirty in the Gladiator Mud Rock n Run at the Historic Rose Bowl of Pasadena! Our team has been named the Mud Buddies and it started as a group of 14 eager and ambitious wanna-be warriors and has dwindled down to 5, but consisting of tried and true never say die competitors who have are ready to experience THE MOST INSANE DAY OF OUR LIVES! Dan Clark aka "Nitro" from the American Gladiators brings us the most insane one day event on the planet - The Gladiator Rock'n Run! Dave B. & Cosette will be coming along for the ride to watch us from the sidelines as we battle the course. They will be cheering us on and hopefully taking lots of pictures of these Mud Buddies for me to post tomorrow! After a much needed shower! The remainder of the day will be one where my legs might feel a bit like JELLO, but I'm sure that I will have a brand new appreciation for being clean! The plan is to go have lunch afterward, before heading back to Orange County and then to enjoy the rest of the weekend - I'm thinking shopping, movies, tea time anyone? I did happen to squeeze in a short little tea time while the kids were at their rehearsal last night. And I have been doing lots of shopping, both online as well as while I'm out and about. Tis the season! Have you been doing much shopping lately? Do you shop online? If you do (and who doesn't), then you NEED to be using EBATES!!! I can't tell you the thousands of dollars I have gotten in cash back going through Ebates. They partner with hundreds of the most popular retailers and they keep track of all the cash back you accrue and then send you quarterly checks! If you shop online, it's in your best interest to go through a cash back site such as Ebates. Well, it's time for me to head on out! Wish me good luck! And pretty please don't forget to vote for us ------->>>> (Find the links to vote in the left side bar) -------->>>>> See you all here tomorrow to fill you in on all the fun and excitement! -T |
