Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: NOT SURE YET
I'm not going to lie guys -- I wish more than anything I did NOT have to drive out to the barn today.
You have no idea how I just wanted to sleep late, go for a nice long walk and catch up on some projects around the house.
It's so hard being a single mom sometimes. The joys definitely outweigh the difficulties, but every so often, it would be nice to have a partner who could pick up some slack.
Well, what are you gonna do? It's the way it goes.
Ok, while I'm on a semi-vent, I've decided to expand it into a full fledged rant.
So, let me tell you one of the most annoying things in the world to me.
Did you ever have a friend that you chat with on a regular basis throughout the day - texting and on the phone? And, even though things come up and there are lulls in the conversation, if that friend should text you or call, you always get back to them. Sometimes, not immediately, but clearly within a few hours at most.
Nothing pisses me off more than when I reach out with something important, waiting for a quick reply and 9 or 10 hours go by!!
I was so angry and realized that maybe I'm too nice of a friend - I do my best to reply right away and be available, but, I guess, not all people act the same way I do or prioritize their friends like I do.
Who knows, maybe I was just in a sensitive mood.
Gianna at the Pre-Dance Dinner - 4th from Left
As I had mentioned several times this week, Gianna had the 7th-8th Grade dance last night - her first school dance!
She looked so adorable!
I picked her up after the dance and if I tell you I was livid, it's an understatement!!
She told me how all the girls were asked to dance and even the girls asked the boys to dance. But, not only did no boys ask Gianna, but even the boys she asked said "ew gross, I'm not dancing with you."
I was in shock. The boys in her grade have been known for bullying and being rude and are always in trouble. But this was totally appalling in my opinion. Mostly, because EVERY SINGLE girl was either asked or accepted to dance.
What added insult to injury is that apparently it got back to her that the boys had all said that no one was to dance with Gianna after she posted a picture of herself on instagram in her dress, with her hair all done.
Gianna had told me that there was a rule that if you were asked to dance "you weren't supposed to say no" as not to hurt anyone's feelings. Well, somehow these little bastards did not get the memo.
I could tell she was upset, but my heart was breaking. I couldn't help it and I said "I cannot wait until you are out of this school" to which, she said "me too."
Well, I believe that in spite of these rude, obnoxious, hurtful encounter, I think she had a good time.
This had me twisted so bad last night, I cannot even express.
Let me move on...

Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: MENDOCINO, CA
Well hello there!
Today marks my 14th trip of the year. Which according to my count means that I've already vacationed 122 days in 2016. Yippee!
I might have only just returned from our last trip, but I'm off yet again... Mendocino here I come.
So, I'm actually starting off this morning by writing to you in the pitch black darkness of the wee early morning hours as I sit here in the SNA (Orange County Airport) airport terminal and wait to board my flight.
Waiting for our flight. (c)travelincousins.com
Since I don't really ever limit myself to what airline I'm flying, today it will be Southwest - they had the best schedule. I wanted to get an early start and have a full first vacation day; Otherwise I would've had to left Orange County last night, and then I'm still not sure that my day would've started quite this early!
The thing that I really don't care for on Southwest is the whole OPEN SEATING thing. I much prefer assigned seating. So can you guess what I totally neglected to do and completely forgot until late yesterday evening...
I forgot to check in! DUH.
If you've ever flown with Southwest than you know that means I'm gonna be left with a lame boarding number, which is actually fine if you are traveling solo. But if you are traveling with anyone, then there is a pretty good chance that you won't be sitting with them...
I'll guess I'll fill ya in on what happens from the other side (up in NorCal).
And LOOKIE LOOKIE - We got seats next to one another :)
We got seats next to one another! (c)travelincousins.com
Upon arrival we boarded a very full rental car shuttle and then hit the road.
After hitting all of my long awaited FOODIE STOPS-
Coming out of Timeless Coffee with a bag of goodies! (c)travelincousins.com
Leaving The Butcher's Son with more food!! (c)travelincousins.com
- I'll fill ya in on and share the drool worthy pics with you in tomorrow's Daily SCOOP, we are on our way to the beautiful coastal city of Mendocino.
Traveling to lovely places and eating delicious Food - what a fabulous day so far!!!
