Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: HAWAII
Ended the Day with a BANG!
My oh my, what a varied and awesome day yesterday was...
We started the day out with our rescheduled photoshoot (we'll get to see the proofs today).
Then we set of to the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, which was an interesting and educational experience...one that Dominic was really into!! And he's not even the one with the major sweet tooth! lol
Amazing views even in your rear/side view mirrors!
Our next stop was the Alai'i Kula Lavender Farm where we had a 2:30pm tour lined up.
The drive was just gorgerous and happens to be off the same road that takes you up to the Haleakala Crater (also the highest point on the island - over 10,000').
My little gang enjoy a picnic with a view before it was time to check out the lavender.
We headed to the cute little gift shop to check in and sampled all sorts of yummy little lavender bites - Strawberry Lavender Syrup, Lavender Tea, and some Strawberry Lavender Pepper Jam (that definitely had a little kick!)
Once on tour we had walked over to the Lavender Labyrinth and Jared (our guide) had explained to us a bit about the Spanish, French, and English varieties and how there are over 200 lavender varieties with about 30 varieties at the farm. He continued to cut samples for us to see and smell the differences. Each so beautiful and fragrant. We then continued the tour strolling though the other parts of the gardens.
Overall it was quite a wonderful little experience. But like always (or should I say like most of the time) there was a PILL on our tour who was just so annoying. Don't ya just hate when that happens?
Well after our visit with a view, I decided that I wanted to go check out Paia - a Historic little hippy town that I've driven through a number of times but never stopped to get out and walk around.
In Paia we strolled and quickly decided that the town was a bit on the "sleepy" side, and that we prefer the Historic Lahaina better. We did manage to get some Gelato and the kids grabbed some gifts before we got back on the road.

On the drive back..
We then headed back to the Lahaina Cannery Mall for a Polynesian Dance Show.
The show was more like a community arts program and I was very glad to give our support.
The Polynesian/Hawaiian Dances are so beautiful and such a part of their history and tradition. I love how much these Hawaiian peoples are all about their culture and traditions. It really warms my heart.
After the show, we finally came back to our resort. This is when things really got exciting - but not in the good sense of the word.
As we were walking through the parking garage, we heard so loud screeching and screaming...
Immediately I thought it must've been a bunch of drunk and reckless fools. Next thing you know a minivan was screeching around the corner heading in our direction! The passenger side door was wide open and there was a woman trying to escape! The driver was drunk and pounding (beating the woman). Luckily a heroic male bystander ran up to the vehicle, had opened the drivers door and started yelling at the attacker.
The drama continued, but I will not go into any further detail.
We rushed to the elevator and were headed to get help, when all of a sudden we heard a loud BANG!
While it was probably only that of the echo of a door slamming - it was quite startling, and we already saw how BAD the situation was. So off we went to get help. And that is how our night ended.
That's all folks. Back with you here tomorrow! Have a Happy Aloha Friday! -T
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 7 DAYS
I am super psyched it's the end of the week, but I have such sad news.
Yesterday, my dad's little teacup Yorkie puppy, Mikey, started having seizures. They rushed the little cutie to the vet. After much medication, the seizures were not stopping.
With further testing, it was revealed that he had a congenital condition that was at the root of the seizures.
Me and my sister, Danielle, rushed to the animal hospital to be with my Dad and Mom. It was very painful to see my father so distraught. This little dog, only 9 months old, had become the focus of Dad's world and daily routines. Mikey was his companion.
It is with a heavy heart that I must convey that Mikey never recovered and passed away yesterday. It was horrible. Moreover, me and Danielle were so incredibly worried about my Dad who just kept repeating how his heart was breaking.
REST IN PEACE, DEAR LITTLE MIKEY. Your life was short, but you touched everyone that met you. We will always love you. * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Moving forward...on a happier note, this morning I went to Kelsey's 4th Grade Mass. Her grade participated in the liturgy celebration.

Before I can kick back for the weekend,I still have a bunch of stuff that needs to be done today. I managed to get new eyeglasses yesterday, but I never picked them up. So, I need to run back to the mall at some time today, since I will not be able to get through the weekend, driving, watching television, etc., without a pair of eyeglasses.
I also need to get a manicure. My nails are atrocious.
Lastly, I promised Gianna I would take her to Best Buy for a new camera disk for her YouTube videos for Dream Come True Farm. In fact, here is her new video!
Well, if you’ve been following the weather reports, you know that Hurricane Joaquin is being tracked along the east coast. I was getting ready to brace myself - got gas, stocked up on water, and even had my flashlights and candles all ready.
However, the latest national weather service report has said that it is very UNLIKELY that Joaquin will hit the east coast.
That is very good news since my main issue was going to horseback riding tomorrow. Now, aside from some very ugly weather, I’m feeling more and more confident that we will be spending the day at the barn, as planned.
Today, is my turn for Foodie Friday. I thought I would actually do something alittle different today.
Instead of mine and Tanya’s usual “restaurant reviews,” I thought I would tell you the 5 Best Meals I’ve had so far in 2015! I will do my best to get the full story up by later today!!
So, regardless of whether the storm is as bad as they say, I think I'll still be stuck in the house after riding Saturday. I will be sitting in my sweats with some snacks and will plan on catching up on House of Cards on Netflix!!
