How many of you spent the entire day in the kitchen yesterday?
How many of you can't wait to dig in to the yummy feast?
I CAN CERTAINLY RAISE MY HAND TO EACH AND ALL OF THE ABOVE!
Yesterday was kinda like my warm up session! I've got a marathon of cooking today to complete our HUGE menu:
THANKSGIVING MENU 2015 Brunch Hashbrown Stuffed Waffle Sandwiches Pumpkin Bread with Cream Cheese Spread
Main Course Maple Dijon Glazed Not Ham Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Gravy Aggie’s Old Fashioned Stuffing Un-Chicken Garlic Balls Candied Yams Crab Rangoon Mama’s Cauliflower Patties Spinach & Edamame Dumplings Corn Soufflé Birdwald’s Brussels Sprouts Creamed Spinach Italian Style Stuffed Jumbo Mushrooms Savory Broccoli Pie Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms Sautéed Green Beans Dave’s Devilish Deviled Eggs Cranberry Compote
Dessert Course Southern Pecan Pie Deconstructed Banana Cream Pie
Can you believe I'm so crazy to tackle this menu? My mom will take care of the stuffing - that is her dish every year. Dave C is making some Deviled Eggs (the ONLY non-vegan dish that will be on the table and only Pasture Raised Eggs will be used), Dave B will make his special Brussels Sprouts, and I will do the rest...of course I'll be recruiting some assistance for prep and clean up work.
But I didn't exactly go to bed early last night and got less than 4 hours of sleep. At least I don't have to wake up super early tomorrow!
I did take a short break between my cooking last night and we went to see a Throwback Movie - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I saw it in the theaters back when it originally came out in 1989 and enjoyed it all over again!
But once back home I was right back to work and didn't leave the kitchen until midnight!
The one item that I'm so glad we found were the Zucchini Blossoms - because there is only one farm that produces them down in San Diego and they come up for the Old Town Tustin Farmers Market on Wednesdays - now while you might not think that these blossoms are popular - let me tell you that they certainly are! And if you don't get to the farmers market early enough, they will be sold out!
Thanks to Dave B for picking these us for me while I was busy slaving away in the kitchen!
I've been in the kitchen since 5:45a while everyone else was still in slumber town (and after less than 4 hours of sleep), I got lots done, but there is still lots to do and this is the first mini break that I'm taking.
The Macy's Day Parade is on and the Family is gathered around the TV watching, while Dominic, Cosette, and I are reminiscing about being there last year and enjoying the parade in person. CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES
Well, I've gotta get back down there and get to work on feeding everyone Brunch!
I wish you a very and Blessed Happy Thanksgiving surrounded by those that you love and hopefully lots of yummy foods too!
See ya tomorrow, -T

So Much to Be Thankful For
THANKSGIVING DAY IS HERE!!
Wow, was it nice to wake up relaxed and calm today!! The sun was shining, the temps are quite pleasant, and so I jumped out of bed to take a most-needed power walk!!
Yesterday, I spent most of the day and evening at my sister's house preparing food for our Thanksgiving Dinner today.
It was hard to withstand all the incredible aromas as our little team of four worked diligently.
Danielle was on the job with making her potatoes au gratin, baked macaroni and cheese and stuffing;
Nancy, Danielle's mother-in-law, made the mouth-watering lasagna and stuffed artichokes;
Gianna was on dessert duty, painstakingly making "Apple Roses", Apple turnovers as well as cornbread for our dinner;
And I was in charge of the salad and troubleshooting each of the cooks where they needed help and on clean-up patrol. We do a pretty traditional menu, getting together at around 3pm and continuing well into the night.
