Today is Travelin' Tuesday and typically this is the day that we go into the detail of upcoming trips and trip planning - so for me it's totally fun stuff!
But first let me share with you what an idiot I can be...
Last night on our way to choir we stopped for a bite (which we do every Monday night). I decided that I wanted the kids to try this new find a Vietnamese Vegetarian spot that I found and had finally tried out last week with Dave. Well at first it seemed like a bit of a struggle - the kids are accustom to us going to Veggie Grill on Monday nights and tend to look forward to it.
But I insisted that we take this week off of Veggie Grill to try this Authentic Asian Cuisine. It's a small little place owned by great people who make great tasting food! We arrived and placed our order at the counter; Cosette claimed she wasn't very hungry and only opted to order an appetizer. We took a table by the window and I hung my pocketbook on the back on my chair - noting to myself DON'T FORGET THIS HANGING BEHIND YOU!
The food was delivered and we all dug in, DELISH!
We did our usual of tasting each others dishes and Cosette couldn't believe how good everything was. She was SO HAPPY! Both kids were already planning what they wanted to order next week, and planning additional visits... I reminded them that they wanted to go back to Veggie Grill next week and they both agreed that they are already looking forward to coming back to this little eatery. The kids were just so happy with they still gem in the rough (especially Cosette)!
Then we were off to choir, stayed at choir until almost 9pm, headed home, and about 10 minutes from home I finally realized that I never picked up my pocketbook!!! OMG I found the phone number on a take out menu along with the hours - they closed at 7pm and are closed on Tuesdays! UGH
I tried anyhow. I left a message. I didn't know what to do - because what if the staff didn't see it either? Then it would be hanging there in plain sight until Wednesday morning - remember I was right by the window. Someone could break in, someone could just break the window and grab it...
I called the police and all they could offer was sending a patrol car over there to take a look. Dave offered to drive back just to settle my mind - either it was still there (and I needed to do something about it), it was missing (and someone already picked it up), or the glass was broken (and it was gone). I tried calling the restaurant once more, and this time the phone was picked up!!!
The sweet owners had told me that they have my pocketbook and that they had forwarded the number of the restaurant to their cell phone in case I would call. They told me that we can go and pick it up tomorrow (even though they are closed)! Whew. Of course I felt all better and could relax. What a dummy I was. End of story. So originally I was going to tell you all about Yosemite National Park - where we are off to in 3 days! But it seems like I went on a bit of a rant, so instead I will share a 15 Fun Facts list with you about Yosemite later this week! Stay tuned...
I will however quickly share with you some fun trips in the works:
As you know I have added an extra weekend getaway for December to San Diego. Just mentioning.
We spent some time yesterday deciding whether we should camp out for our trip to Death Valley National Park or find other accommodations...I think my vote is camping out under the stars (there will be a new moon that weekend!)
I am also adding a weekend camping trip to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park (mainly because Chaplin loved camping so much and wants to camp in the woods).
Dave and I were in discussion about our trip to Scotland and the Outer Hebrides and actually extending it and hitting London, Paris, and Rome!!
Yup, that is just a mere sampling of what's in the works with approx 19-20 weeks of traveling! So much to look forward to in 2016!!
I'm certainly excited!!!
And that about does it for today. See ya on the flip side :) -T

Howdy Folk, Can you believe it's only a little over a week till Thanksgiving!! Fall is moving along quickly!
So, I wanted to focus on some of the best events happening in NYC for Thanksgiving weekend so you can plan ahead...
I'll be featuring this tomorrow for W2Gw!
Today, I'm back home. Have a very busy day. Catching up on food shopping and errands.
Going to be doing some Christmas shopping as well. It's amazing how fast the holidays are approaching.
And Santa will be ushering in Christmas as he makes his way down Fifth Avenue in the 89th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade next Thursday!!
If you are interested in getting something on your calendar immediately, it's going to the parade! This annual pageant of giant balloons, floats, cheerleaders, clowns, marching bands, Broadway shows and celebs.
Sure, it's fun to watch in your PJs, but why not spend the morning up close and personal and watch the procession in person!
Time Out New York has provided a wonderful map of the trade route CLICK HERE.
The site also has a great guide for where to go for the best views!! CLICK HERE as well as the listing for Broadway shows.
I'm really sorry this is a short one, but it's just one of those days, getting back in the swing of things since returning from our amazing Boston weekend trip!!
