Tanya's Daily Scoop TRIP COUNTDOWN Next Trip Departs In: 8 Days
Well here we are again, it's another weekend! Yippee!!
This is actually the first weekend since I dunno when that I'm actually not traveling! Okay let me think about it... Since the beginning of April (I had to check my calendar). I've been all over the place, and this weekend I get a rest. A break. I probably need one. But I'm certainly not accustom to taking many, because then I tend to get B O R E D - and me no likey getting B O R E D!!!
Anyhow, the kids have a performance tomorrow with their choir that I'm looking forward to. Dominic has his regular Saturday morning classes (that he usually skips when I'm not around), and I'll be sure to throw in some activities to get the heart pumpin' - tennis, rock climbing, bike riding...
In addition to enjoying the fact of staying healthy and staying in shape, we've gotta be sure that we are all ready for the upcoming Gladiator Mud Run!!
As for today, I'll be taking Cosette, Jet, and Chaplin to the stables to go see Dream and Star. I've also got to stop at a few department stores and pick up some items that I've ordered.
I was also at the stables with Cosette just yesterday for her horseback riding lesson.
And while I was watching her do her thang, I decided that it was a good time to make a quick call or two (or three) to the airlines, to confirm meals, baggage allowances, itineraries, etc...
Well, let me tell you these quick calls took FOREVER. Between waiting on hold, waiting for call backs, and actually speaking with human beings. I was so happy once it was all said and done with. For some strange reason I was expecting this little chore to conclude much faster than it did. But in the end I'm glad to have everything squared away and taken care of, so that I can move onto the next thing(s).
Still so much to do and most of it has to be done by the time I leave for NY on my way to meet Elisa in Prague for our Eastern European Trip... so that only gives me 24 days!
And let's not forget that TODAY is FOODIE FRIDAY! Who's hungry? Well if you aren't now, you will be by the time you finish reading all about The Ravens at The Stanford Inn.
Dave and I just returned from our annual visit up to this fantastic Resort. And before we had even left I was already looking at the calendar and the map trying to work out an extra visit up there! Yup that's how I roll! My mind is always working on trips...even when I'm on them! LOL
Well Elisa has been a very busy girl, and I have been getting most of my updates just like you - from reading her Daily! So, I'm pretty interested in hearing more about this little road trip adventure that has caught her eye - The Great River Road which follows the course of the Mississippi River for 3,000 miles through 10 states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennesssee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
While I've been on more than my fair share of USA road trips, and I have either been to or through 9 of these 10 states. I haven't done this scenic byway, nor have I been to Minnesota yet (and I don't count airports!) Let's figure out what Elisa is thinking and see if we can fit this one on the calendar!!
Alrighty my peeps, it's time for me to get jiggy with it and say Sayonara!
Please don't forget to vote for us!
See ya tomorrow, -T

TGIF!!! I'll say it again. This has been some week! I had so much going on and I found this week extremely stressful, so I'm really in need of a relaxing weekend.
Yesterday, I got a call from the veterinarian -I wasn't expecting it and it kinda set me off in a sad mood. They called to let me know that Liberty's ashes had arrived.
My beloved Liberty - running around on Easter Morning 2015
I took it pretty bad. It brought up all the pain again of not having her here in my life. (tears).
On a happier note...my nephew Nolan got a home run last night at his baseball game!!! Danielle called me up so excited last night to share the news.
WAY TO GO NOLAN!!! YOUR AUNT LEE IS VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!
I hope you enjoyed my Throwback Thursday story yesterday "Food Glorious Food in Lancaster, PA" (circa 2002). CLICK HERE if you missed it.
Today, Tanya is going to make us drool with another one of her Foodie Friday stories. This week, we are going to The Ravens at the Stanford Inn, where Tanya just visited this past weekend. CLICK HEREto catch this feature!
Tomorrow I'll be heading out east for another horseback riding day for Kelsey. Gianna's back is still on the mend :-(
Her physical therapy is going well, so I'm hoping within the next few weeks, she will be back "in the saddle."
If you read Tanya's Daily Scoop the other day, you saw that she promised to talk about a new road trip she is planning on Travelin Tuesday this coming week.
Well, I haven't as yet put a plan together, but I am EXTREMELY interested in planning a road trip along the Great River Road National Scenic Byway. It is considered by many to be one of the best scenic drives in America. The Great River Road follows the course of the Mississippi River for 3,000 miles through 10 states. These include Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennesssee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
I will share more about this amazing journey on Travelin' Tuesday. I'm hoping to discuss this little road trip adventure with Tanya to see if there is a way to break this journey up into drivable segments and see what we can get on the calendar!!
