On the note of annoying, let me tell you about yesterday...
I had to take Goldie for shots. She is scheduled to be spayed next week and so that means 2 lovely visits to the vets office for me.
So Cosette and I go, we fill out the needed paperwork and take a seat in the waiting room along with a sweet elderly couple, a grandma with 2 grandkids, and a man who had been waiting for hours to be seen.
We get as comfortable as we can on the wooden benches that lined the walls and begin our wait.
One by one the couple gets called in, then the granny. In the meantime 2 more women take the emptied seats. The one who was nearer to me (yet still on another bench altogether) had an adorable little Yorkie. No words or greeting were shared.
We continue sitting there waiting. The woman looking at her phone, and I chatting with Cosette and texting a friend.
Next thing that happened was that the Yorkie woman either made a real or fake call and I thought I heard her complain about someone chewing gum. Hmm I wondered is that what I really heard? Not looking up I realize that I am the only one in the room chewing gum... Then it is confirmed that I heard what I heard, because the extremely rude woman complains again and again about my gum chewing!!!
Have you know that I can and at times do chew gum rather loudly (my business). However this was certainly not one of those times - because the gum I was chewing was über soft and impossible to chew loud.
This definitely got under my skin. Similar when you are speaking to someone and they claim that you are yelling at them when you aren't ever raising your voice!!
So exactly what is this suppose to accomplish? Was it that I was expected to stop chewing my gum? Had this approach actually worked for this individual in the past?
Well sorry folks NOT WITH ME! This is what I do in a situation like that - I chew even louder. So loud that it's not even the chewing that you are hearing but the smacking of my mouth. As difficult as it was with the said gum in my mouth - I also begin snapping it - let's recall where I am from and YES we snap our gum!
Still pretending to ignore the rather ugly woman with the cute Yorkie, while in conversation with Cosette I start an obnoxious laughter along with my gum smacking.
Until the point when she gets up and walks out of the room and I call out nice and loudly "Glad that STINK left."
Yeah that was fun.
I was pretty drained by the time we got home and it was already too late for me to go to the gym. Luckily I did manage to help Dave pack. I haven't even touched my bags yet. Obviously this MUST be done today!!
And I am scheduled to do more filming again this afternoon. Which should be fun!
I've been working on the itineraries for both the Rome/Ireland trip and the Germany/Poland/Austria/ Czech trip.
Oh well that's gonna be it for me today. Catch ya tomorrow as I head for Portland.
