Tanya's Daily Scoop TRIP COUNTDOWN Next Trip Departs: TODAY
Flights, Fog and Vineyards
Hello Hello Hello! Howdy and Greetings from San Francisco!
Well, I'm actually in Berkeley right now at Herbivore - The Earthly Grill and about to have breakfast at one of my favorite breakfast spots in the Bay area (although I am a first timer to this location)! I'll let you know the comparison...
Dave and I left SoCal and arrived in NorCal this morning and I'm now on my 10th trip of 2015. Yup, can you believe that?!
Here I thought I was all so clever bringing just 1 pair of shoes - BIG GIANT CUTE WEDGES (plus my sneakers for bike rides) that go with all of my outfits and then as we're already on the road do I think about it and realize that I should've also packed a pair of flats!
Well I'm certainly NOT the type to turn back, so I'll either stop and buy another pair of shoes or just deal with throwing on my sneakers when necessary...
We have a few stops here in Berkeley and San Francisco before heading up to Mendocino. It'll be around a 3 hour drive north and along the way we'll be stopping at the Navarro Vineyard.
While, I'm not a wine drinker. Dave and I tried this amazing Gewürztraminer Grape Juice last year while dining at the Ravens Restaurant in Mendocino, and we have been looking forward to getting a bottle ever since!
It's already been a long day for me, as it was a very early morning and I didn't actually get all that much sleep last night. Me and my ways...
Meanwhile, I am thrilled with how yesterday went, I was super busy and productive, it was just non-stop and go go go until going to get my nails done and..
Then I still had some stuff to finish up once we got home from having what luckily turned out to be a nice dinner at Shojin. I say luckily because prior to ordering, things were NOT going particularly very well. As mentioned yesterday about being on the outs with Dave, the tension was still quite high at dinner and I was not very thrilled to be sitting across from this guy who just wasn't acting normal. Ugh! I hate that! Although I was glad that as we made our way through the courses and stuffed our bellies the night did become a bit more relaxed.
I'll certainly be missing my kiddos!!! But wish me luck for the weekend with Dave. I'm sure hoping he left the 'tude back in SoCal.
I look forward to sharing todays events with you in tomorrows Daily!
But for now, I've got to get on with it!! -T :)

Stay-cation for Memorial Day Weekend
Hey there!!Happy Memorial DayWeekend!!
Are you doing anything special? I woke up today and was so delighted to see the sunshine and gorgeous weather here on Long Island!!
Well, here on Elisa's end, things just never seem to go according to plan. I was all set to head out to the Hamptons for Kelseys riding lesson, when I found out that Lisa's daughter, Sarah, who Kelsey rides with had a rollerblading mishap yesterday and was pretty banged up.
Poor kid will not be able to ride today, so without Sarah, we decided to stay home and decided to alternate our riding for next week instead of today.
Overall, however, unlike my cousin Tanya, my gang will be staying home for this Memorial Day and doing things locally.
a) Things around the house today; b) Broadway show (Gigi) tomorrow and lunch at Azalea c) NYC Festivities for Fleet Week on Monday.
So, what does a mom and daughter do when they are already up at the crack of dawn on a sunny day?
THEY GARDEN!!! Yes, that's right, Kelsey and I got out there first thing and finished up some planting that I had hoped to do earlier in the week and never got to.
We planted all of our Marigolds and Impatiens. We also re-planted Kelsey's Petunia as well.
She was such a big help and I was so happy to teach her to get her hands in the dirt and be one with nature. (I know, that's really granola folks lol).
But, truthfully, my Dad taught me how to plant and I love that I can pass that on to my daughter!

Gianna had plans to head over to my moms for a day of light working out at the gym and possibly some shopping. She is still not riding due to back problems. I'm hoping she will be able to soon, now that she is in physical therapy.
So, it is certain that today is going to be a Kelsey & Mommy Day!!
We headed over to Starbucks for me to finalize my Daily Scoop and have some much-deserved goodies!!

Ok folks, I didn't forget that it is Memorial Day weekend and there is lots going on in and around the New York City area.
Last year, we headed over to the New York Air Show at Jones Beach. It was fantastic and we had a great day.
I highly recommend that you attend this year, especially if you have never been!
Watching the show is a full-day event. Bring some food, beverages and of course, a blanket to get comfy on!! I'm not sure if the weather will allow for it, but mind as well, wear your swimsuit, just in case!!!
At Field 4 at Jones Beach (2014)
A Few Helpful Hints:
1) Get there early!! This show has attracted up to 200,000 people in a single day in the past! The parking lots often fill up by 11:00am, and once they do, the parkways are closed and wannabe attendees are turned away :-(
2) Sunscreen 'Nuf said - you are at a beach
3) Bags, Backpacks and Coolers are allowed Pack away, but they will be searched. If you want to travel light, there is a nice fast-food style restaurant on the East end of the beach, and refreshment vendors will be located along the boardwalk.
4) Where to watch There are two ways that one can watch the show: from the beach or from a boat. The best views are within Jones Beach itself.
For those with boats, the show can be viewed from Zach's Bay or from the ocean. Be aware - there are restrictions as to where in the ocean the show can be watched.

In other news, my nephew Julian has quickly become the star player on his baseball team! I had a great time at his game yesterday!!
He has another game this afternoon. I'm thinking that maybe me and Kelsey will go and watch again!!
