Well, I had a relaxing day yesterday, having not gone to the barn.
The girls relaxed and the three of us watched a few movies together.
The first, The Longest Ride, starring Alan Alda, was a romantic tear-jerker, which I didn't realize was based on the 2013 Nicholas Sparks book by the same name. (It didn't surprise me!).
Then, the three of us girls watched The Duff for the 300th time!
With Kelsey still on the mend from her cold and Gianna having to finish her project for the school Social Studies Fair this week, I decide to take a few hours to myself today and head to “New York on Location” in Astoria.
HOWEVER, since it is an outdoor event, it became a wash-out with the rain! Coincidentally, my sitter called me sick as well, so that ended that plan.
If you are up for getting wet and having a fun "Movie Set" day, check out this event
The event is a day-long, family-friendly street fair that offers visitors a behind-the-scenes look at film production in New York.
Additionally, visitors will be able to go inside 20+ working movie trailers and trucks—straight from productions shooting in New York—and speak directly with movie professionals about what they do on set.
If I tell you I'm bored out of my mind today, it's an understatement - so I put together a list of things to accomplish at home - AGAIN!
First, I hauled some bags over to the Salvation Army first thing this morning. Then I became a drill sergeant with the kids and had them clear out their drawers and closets for old clothes that no longer fit. I bagged this up and made yet another trip to old "Aunt Sally."
Now, I'm going through old books of the girls' and making piles so I can donate them. There are so many!
I'll be clearing out my basement as well, which has a ton of old craft items that are just taking up space.
Lastly, a run over to Staples for some necessities for both girls for the upcoming Social Studies Fair projects they will be displaying.
A vegetable soup for dinner is on the stove.

Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: BILBOA, SPAIN
Lisbon at a Glance
Buenos días! From Bilbao Spain!! Heyyyy there! To much of my surprise, I'm sooooo happy to have a decent internet connection again - woohoo!
But not to worry because after chatting with and explaining to my dear cuz Elisa how crappy my connections were - it was all going to be taken care of and I had already emailed her all of the photos and captions that are listed below. The plan was and will continue to be that if either of us are in a similar situation again to email the other and have them POP in the text for the other! Way to be there for me E!! xoxo
So yesterday was in fact the most grueling out of what is to be expected of the entire trip... 2 back to back red-eye flights - while I can handle it, not many can. And one of those who can't is my little honey Cosette. She was a ragged mess. So tired, she was kinda delirious, and her back was all out of whack. She needed a bed and made that known to all!! But all things considering she was a sport about it.
And she kinda lucked out that yesterday DIDN'T quite go according to plan - BOOOOOO As opposed to Friday, which went off perfectly and without a hitch - yesterday had it's share of hitches...well actually just one in particular - the Car Hire Agency at the airport.
The line was absolutely outrageous!
We literally took 4 hours leaving the airport - which was totally unforeseen and none of it had to do with customs - in fact I was totally stoked that customs was such a breeze!
Arriving at Lisbon Airport
Outside of Lisbon Airport
Waiting FOREVER at for our car/suv rental
Finally almost our turn!!!
But as the time ticked away, I knew that I had to make some adjustments to the day...namely crossing Sintra off of our list. (insert a teary eye here)
I was looking quite forward to our planned visit to Sintra - but alas it will have to wait until a future visit. And hopefully Elisa's company!!!
So instead since going to Sintra was out of the cards, we spent longer wandering around and checking out Lisbon!
Now please enjoy Lisbon at a Glance:
