Before I go into all of the festivities of the day, I'll tell you a tad about yesterday... I took Cosette to see Dream, and on our way over had much frustration with the SoCal drivers that are seriously some of the worst drivers ever!
Little baby Al is getting pretty BIG
I had some travel bookings to take care of (of course), some shopping to take care of, doing my hair, getting my pedicure, and got plenty-o-cooking done!
Dave B. surprised me with an early HUGE bouquet of beautiful and fragrant flowers.
So as you could imagine, I've got lots of fun planned for the day... We're gonna start out by going to breakfast, then head over to the Queen Mary and see the Legacy of Princess exhibit (all about Princess Di).
Following that we'll meet the gang for lunch at a place that I've been eager to try out, and then we'll all head over to the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens! Before calling it a wrap, we'll go have some Ice Cream, then come home and have one of my favorite meals Lasagna - that I happened to prepare for hours and hours last night.
I'm not a taster as I cook - I use my nose. One reason being is that I want to taste the dish for the first time along with everyone else. Another reason being because I'm not a hypocrite - I won't let anybody else taste while I'm cooking, so neither will I. And finally because it just seems to me that the people who taste as they go along, lose their appetite by the supper time - because they are already full from eating along the way!
Well, I can't wait to sink my teeth into dish after dish of my Lasagna! Yes I said dish after not - not just bite after bite!!
Lastly I will sit at the head of the table and the gang will all gather 'round to sing me Happy Birthday as they deliver my birthday cake all full of glowing candles for me to blow out and make a wish upon.
And that will be my fabulous day. Of course I'll be taking plenty of pictures to show you guys in tomorrows Daily Scoop.
So don't forget to come back and visit!
Now it's time for me and you to have a most wonderful day, -T

GOOD DAY FOLKS!!
Well, today is a very special day here on Travelin' Cousins! It's Tanya's Birthday!
Anyone that knows Tanya, knows how important birthdays are to her - especially her's!!
So, today is going to be wonderful I'm sure, as she has a fun-filled day planned with family, that includes some local sites and of course, a great, Italian dinner!

Another day at the Dream Come True Farm... By now, it's no secret that in addition to our daily lives and all things travel, horses come in as a close third to things near and dear to both me and my dear cousin and our kiddies.
Both our kids love them, ride and are pretty much obsessed with them! And a great deal of our "home" time is spent at our respective barns.
If you are even more interested in finding out more and following along on my end, with my kids, check out Dream Come True YouTube Channel, which was created and managed by my little cuties, Gianna & Kelsey.
Today it was a bit chilly at the barn when we arrived - 39 degrees. But, somehow the kiddies are never cold!

With today being Tanya's birthday, I thought I would highlight a few birthday traditions from around the world... INTERNATIONAL BIRTHDAY TRADITIONS
CHINA: LONG NOODLES FOR LONGEVITY Eating a plate of long noodles is a Chinese birthday tradition, which represents longevity by slurping the noodles in as far as possible before biting.
ENGLAND: FORTUNE TELLING CAKES & "BUMPS" The birthday cake is prepared containing symbolic items. For example, if your piece of cake has a coin in it, then you will be rich. Additionally, the birthday child is given "bumps" by their friends - lifted into the air by the hands and feet and raised up and down to the floor, one for each year then one for luck, two for luck and three for the old man's coconut!
GERMANY: SWEEEPING THE STAIRS OF CITY HALL In Germany, for men that do not have a girlfriend on their 30th birthday, they have to sweep the stairs of city hall!
The birthday guy's friends will throw trash on the stairs. With every mess that is cleaned, more trash is thrown. The belief is that every girl can see that this man reached the age of 30 and still doesn't have a girlfriend (and that he is capable of cleaning a house well)
ISRAEL: CHAIR RAISING Well, this certainly sounds like fun! On their birthday, a child sits in a chair while grown-ups raise and lower it a number of times corresponding to the child's age, plus one for good luck.
ITALY: EAR PULLING Yes, you read that correctly...in Italy, it is customary to pull the birthday child's ears as many times for as how old as they are.
IRELAND: HEAD HITTING? Not sure how well child advocates will approve of this tradition, but Irish tradition is for a child to be held upside down and “bumped” on the floor, once for every year of their age plus one for good luck.
MEXICO: THE BIRTHDAY PIÑATA The tradition of the piñata has caught on here in the U.S. for children's birthdays. The piñata is filled with candy for the blindfolded children to whack away with a broomstick to have lots of goodies come pouring out!
RUSSIA: BIRTHDAY "PIES" Instead of a birthday cake, the birthday pie is the custom in Russia with a special birthday greeting carved into the crust!!
SCOTLAND: A POUND NOTE & A SOFT SMACK I think I'm beginning to see where the tradition of "birthday punches" stemmed from - In Scotland, not only is a pound note given for every year old the child is and an additional pound for good luck, but they are also the recipient of a soft smack on the bottom for each year.
Well, I'm wishing Tanya a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! HOPE ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE IN THE COMING YEAR!!
