Tanya's Daily Scoop
Next Trip Departs In: 2 Days
Nonstop Weekend of Fun!
Well, well, well, it's Saturday!
Friday was plentiful of lots of busyness, running around all over town, sitting in traffic no matter where I was going, dealing with the hotter than heck weather at the stables, helping out with horse bathing, picking up all sorts of goods for the very soon upcoming trip (Europe with Elisa) and for the kiddos while I'm away on "the trip".
Cosette and her 'Dream'
Dream, all pretty and clean
Dominic came to the stables with us
One thing I happened to pick up was a bottle of Stumptown cold brew coffee from Portland (well... cause I like coffee - not for the pick me up, but for the flavor), and the only reason that I'm mentioning this coffee to you is because just so you know, it was REALLY good! If you are a fan of coffee - go find some ASAP!
We pretty much stuck to a good schedule throughout the day, and with no breaks taking us clear through the night.
The evening was taken up with dinner at the very busy Veggie Grill (FREE bogo meal for Dads this weekend!), the kids special rehearsal, and then as planned we went and caught a late night showing of SPY!
Directed and produced by Paul Feig, who's worked with the absolutely funny gal McCarthy on other flicks such as Bridesmaids and The Heat.
You'll get no spoilers here. But, I'll just say that the studs were duds, there was lots of laughs and Melissa McCarthy kicked ass!
Pretty much fun for all, however due to a couple of minor and unnecessary shock factors or grossocity factors, I wouldn't recommend it for the "younger" crowd.
Sorry guys, but just so you know...I can be a bit prudish. Not to say that I didn't almost spray my mouthful of mocha all over the row in front of me during one bust out silly scene!
There was even a cameo performance by Melissa McCarthy's real life hubby Ben Falcone.
Today will be filled with taking Dominic to his Saturday class (only one today, because when I attempted to wake him, he decided that he was too sleepy for the morning class and chose to skip it).
I've gotta run to pick up a deliver to store order that I recently placed (more things to toss in the luggage).
And get this... Dominic wants to go Christmas shopping!
He is my son after all!!! A child after my own heart!
I'm so proud that he came up with this all on his own. Way to get ahead of the game and to start early my boy :)
Being that today is SHOPPING SATURDAY let's also not forget that Dear ol' Dad's Day is Tomorrow!
Be sure and get him something special, and why not get a sizable discount while you're at it?!
You don't even have to face the traffic, or the crowds at the mall for these deals:
And with FREE RETURNS how can you go wrong?!
Later this evening, Dave and I have an outgoing International Peace Choir Board of Directors Party to attend, and I'm gonna be sure to go get some pampering before heading out to this event...Beauty Salon here I come :)
Apparently Elisa and I are on the same wave length, she's having a salon day too!
I just gotta go get my hair and nails all prettified for the trip!
And yet another very full day on the agenda for tomorrow... Including going to see the new Jurassic World - which we would've seen on opening night...but since we were traveling (go figure), we opted to wait until Father's Day.
Unlike Elisa, this is probably the most anticipated movie of the summer for me, and I'm hoping that our group really enjoys it!
Tons more fun to fill the day with...
But you'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what else is in store :)
I hope you have an awesomely wonderful day just being YOU!
I am so happy because I didn’t have to get up at the crack of dawn today! I decided to switch out Kelsey’s horse back riding from this weekend till next. Great Decision!!!
Frankly, I just needed a break fro the routine so I could relax and catch up on a few necessary “to do’s” today. But before I get into that, I wanted to tell you about last night.
Kids' School Principal - surprised with a check for $10,000
Originally, I had plans to go out with Danielle last night to celebrate our friend Teresa’s birthday.
After I had committed, I became aware that last night was also the Farewell /Retirement Cocktail party for the kids’ school principal.
So, clearly, I did not want to miss this event, but I also knew I wanted to hang out with the girls!
I went to the Retirement party first, where the principal, Dr. Kilbride was presented with a $10,000 check to spend any way she chooses for the school!
She was clearly in shock with this "gift."
Dr. Kilbride was an amazing principal who did so much for the school during the past 10 years. We are all going to mis her terribly!!
After a few drinks and fun conversation hanging out with Denise and Maria and many other's from our wonderful school community, I headed out to go meet Danielle and Teresa in Rockville Centre, Long Island.
I got there just in time for dessert. I ordered a killer dessert!!! "Martini Glass Pecan Pie." It was amazing -- Pecan pie with vanilla ice cream served in a martini glass!! Soooo good!!
Martini Glass Pecan Pie
Folks, it was a evening of BAD Photos!! I don't know what it was - but I couldn't get it rights - angles, lighting. I thought I would show you just how bad the photo of me and Danielle turned out - just for fun...
Last night - me and Danielle in "George Martin" Restaurant in Rockville Centre - terrible photo
Okay, so, Gianna spent the night at one of her friend's house after going to see Jurassic World with her friends. (Of course, they were accompanied by the parents as well.) Thought since we are talking about movies today, I'd give you the input of an 11 year old about Jurassic World:
Omg worst movie ever
I was so scared
Are u ok?
But it was a well made movie
I almost pooped my pants.
And I almost threw up
R u ok now ?
Um better. Not ok completely
I didn't really get scared until I got nervous
Are you ok to sleep over?
Yes, I'm fine.
Yeah. I'll sleep over
I didn't think it would be that scary. It was ALOT of killing.
Ok it's all fake
The movie wasn't even that scary. Just a pig jumping got my terrified
It wouldn't have been my first choice, but apparently the other girls enjoyed it. A big thank you to my friend Karla for taking the girls and hosting a great sleepover!!
Today, Gianna is pretty tired since they didn't get much sleep! But, we have haircut appointments, so no time to rest for the weary!
Kelsey is getting a summer haircut, Gianna is getting a cut and an Ombray color treatment to her ends.
And I'm getting color and cut. It's a beauty day for me and my girls!!
Gianna getting ready for her hair treatment
Is it Cousin It?
Getting Low-lites today
So, I never got to see SPY last night, as did Tanya, but I'm going tonight - I'll give my input tomorrow!!
Ok, my beauty treatment is beckoning!
