How are you today? What a great week this has been!!
With the tests over at school, the kids are just getting through the last couple of days until the school year is complete. And let me tell you - they are hating every minute of these last 5 days lol!
This week, however, considering there is no more homework, we did some fun stuff.
First, the community pool opened and we spent Sunday having a blast with the girls' barn buddies.
On Tuesday, we took a drive into Brooklyn to Dun Well Doughnuts to have their famous Vegan Doughnut Sundaes.
This is our second time to this amazing little eatery! I mean, it has to be good for us to schlepp all the way from Long Island to Brooklyn for a "quick snack." Soooo worth the drive!
The featured vegan ice cream flavors of the day were vanilla and strawberries. Both girls went for the vanilla, but I decided to try the strawberry and OMG was it yummy!!
I am not a vegan like my cousin Tanya, but what I must say is that these doughnuts are so light, as is the non-dairy ice cream that although we were completely satiated, we were not stuffed.

Our day continued with an early evening showing of Now You See Me: The Second Act, which was very exciting and captivating. We all really enjoyed it!
I was the only one of our little trio that saw the first one "Now You See Me" so I had to catch the kids up a bit on what preceded the turn of events in this, the sequel.
Moving on to yesterday, Wednesday, Gianna's 6th Grade barbecue took place. The weather could not have been more perfect for sitting on the lawn, sack races, tug of war games and water balloon throwing contests!
Some of the fathers manned the grill, while us moms helped serve the food and were on clean-up duty.

With such incredible weather, we could not pass up heading over to the pool for a few hours of swimming.
An incredible week so far!
And it's only Thursday! Still two more days to go before the weekend and back to the barn!
I'm glad the weather cooperated all week because today is a nasty, rainy day. Time to catch up on some things around the house.
The girls promised me we would go through the mega amounts of toys in their respective bedrooms and playroom, so we could do some donations. A rainy day is a perfect day for this project!
Looking back at the end of the year five years ago - Kelsey at her "End of Year Show" in Pre-K! She was so little!
And the same week, out in the Hamptons.

Well, folks I'm getting more and more excited about our little "NOLA" get away in August.
The Big Easy is going to be just that -- a nice, easy, relaxing couple of days away from The Big Apple and Long Island.
I'll be getting my itinerary up on TC in the next few days, so stay tuned!
Hope it's a great day for you!!
Tanya's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 16 DAYS
Greetings Guys and Gals!
How's everyone doing?
Doesn't it feel like Friday? I for one am ready for the weekend to start :)
If you read yesterday's Daily Scoop, then you know why I'm eager for the weekend to start - there are so many fun events that we'll be participating in!! I can't wait!
So if you know me by know - and I imagine that you do, you know that my brain runs on travel and food. At any given moment these are the things that I am thinking about. Be it past, present or future trips and meals!
And since today is TBT (Throwback Thursday), I figured that I'd share some of travel and food memories that I have been pining over - from Central America to Europe:
And One of my Favorites places on Earth - the Amalfi Coast, Italy...
And boy oh boy were we JEALOUS when we heard that Elisa and the gals were heading to Dun Well Doughnuts - OMG they are soooooo GOOD! Just look at the pictures that Elisa has posted... I'm drooling over here! You know that I'll be making my way over there just as soon as I can. Our September trip to NY can't come soon enough!!! So many missed foods and restaurants in NYC that we have been craving!
Here are a few throwbacks to visiting Dun Well Doughnuts:

And at this time last year I was in full prep, getting ready for Elisa and my Rail trip to Europe - which was Out of This World Fun! And I know that we both can't wait to start traveling together once again!

Shifting gears here:
Yesterday happened to be a monthiversary for Dave and myself. My hunny walked in from work and surprised me with a big beautiful bouquet of colorful flowers - I really do love flowers!!
Earlier in the day he suggested that I wear a dress and that there was a surprise in later that night. Then he even attempted to surprise me by taking me to the location of our first date!!

The only problem was that upon arrival...to the door, we found out that they closed early last night since it was slow. Awwww... It's the thought that counts!
As far as today goes, we may or may not be going to the stables - I'll let you know. I've gotta go get my workout on, and Dominic has classes later tonight. So I might have a bit of time this afternoon to work on some upcoming travel and dining plans!
