Gonna be an INSANE day!
Greetings from San Jose, California!
We are about to kick off this Mud Run&I'm Ready to get down Dirty!
Actually I really don't like getting dirty, but I love a good obstacle course! I hope the rest of my little gang is ready to go, because this is anticipated to be a HUGE BLAST!
Dominic and I participated in a Gladiator Rock and Run last October at the Rose Bowl, and aside from the killer hot temps and the event running out of water at the water stations it was a whole lot of muddy fun! Read all about last years event HERE
Yesterday, we all piled into the 4Runner, left in a mess of traffic, had dinner in Los Angeles on our way out of town, drove up 6+ hours, got in rather late, but still managed to get more sleep than I did the night before my last Gladiator Race!
Today, we are totally amp'd and looking forward to an amazing and unforgettable weekend!
Since there is no signal at the campsite or the grounds for the Gladiator - you will have to wait until tomorrow to see the before and after pictures. Or should I say the clean and dirty pictures. But you'll get it all. Clean, dirty, jumping, running, climbing, crawling, sprawling, you name it we are taking pictures of it!

After the race, and after working up quite an appetite, we'll be heading to have lunch at Saturn Cafe, it's a place that we've been curious about that happens to be right around the corner from Cinnaholic - where we WILL DEFINITELY be getting some Cinnamon Rolls!
After filling our tummies we are going to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and Battery Spencer. If there is enough time, then we'll be walking all the way across and back, which is about 3 to 3.5 miles.
I'd also like to go to one of my favorite places in the city - Palace of Fine Arts, and feed the birds. Which is something that I've been doing just about every visit ever since the very first time that the kids were born and we took a family trip up to San Francisco!
And any other sightseeing that we can fit in to the day... Lombard Street anyone?!
Tomorrow will be another day full of fun events but without the mud!
Check in with me here on the Daily Scoop to find out all the haps :)
Until then I've got a find my inner beast and get into BEAST MODE! -T

Busy Busy Busy Saturday
Today is going to be one of those days. Running, Running, Running!
Early start for Horseback riding out east. Once again, it will only be Kelsey riding today. Yes, Gianna's back is still not ready for riding (insert sad face), but the she IS on the mend, going to physical therapy regularly.
In any case, Gianna decided to come with me into Westhampton Beach for breakfast. So, she packed up her books to study for her finals next week.
What a gorgeous day out here - I can't even tell you - sunny, breezy and perfect temps!!
While Kelsey was riding today, I went to my usual hang out in West Hampton, where I spend the three hour riding window with my friend John.
Most Saturdays I'm in no rush to get back home, but today, I have to leave immediately since I need to get on the road for the one hour drive as we have my bestie Maria's daughter's graduation party this afternoon.
I was THRILLED because today was NOT supposed to be the nicest of days weather wise BUT, it turned out to be GORGEOUS!
I Texted her to tell her how happy that it will be sunny for her outdoor party!
I know it will be a great day regardless, because it always is when our families spend time together!
We'll be under a little bit of pressure to get back home, get my gang showered (because they will completely smell like horses!) and dressed to be at Maria's by 2:30. As it is, we will be 30 minutes late, since I knew it would be impossible to get there when it starts at 2:00.
You know how much I love shopping and since today is Shopping Saturday, here on our blog, I have to tell you about some great purchases I made this week!
I was out doing a little last minute "let me see what I can find" shopping for my trip to Eastern Europe in 14 days (I'm in shock that this trip is almost here - it's been in the planning stages for over a year!!!)
Anyway, I popped into DSW Shoe Warehouse the other day to see what was new and I just couldn't resist the cutest pair of Kenneth Cole shoes! They are so not my practical since they have a pattern on them, but I thought they would be lots of fun for the summer with a few outfits here and there.
I definitely think I'll be packing them for my trip. Tanya and I have a few "dress up" evenings planned at the Opera, so these would be perfect to dress up an outfit for the evening.
Moving on...across the street from DSW is a strip mall that was build alittle over a year ago and I thought - "heck, why not" and made my way over to Nordstrom Rack. I didn't have to, but that's not really the point...I did!
And I managed to snag a cute, black dress - that just happened to go nicely with my floral and stripe new shoes!!
It was a totally productive day of shopping for me!
Yesterday, I made my way over to Target for some toiletries for the trip. That was my shopping intention. What I wound up purchasing were 2 CD's - Jason Derulo and Pitbull and a pair of jeans.
If you have not yet heard the new Jason Derulo CD, you must!!! I'm totally loving all the songs on it!! Warning: there is explicit content, so be careful around the kiddies.
As for the jeans...I was just meandering through the women's clothing department, making my way to the register, when I spied the cutest pair of jeans screaming my name. Because I was in a rush, I just grabbed my size and thought "Oh, these will fit" and didn't bother to try them on.
When I got home, I was more than disappointed to find out that while they "fit", they were a bit snug and I probably would do better with the next size.
UGH!!! Don't you hate that! So, tomorrow, I'll be heading back to Target to do an exchange and I'm crossing my fingers that I find a pair in the next size. They are so adorable, so I'll be disappointed if they don't have them.
Did I see LOMBARD STREET written on Tanya's side? Well, folks, I couldn't resist posting this picture of the world-famous winding street from my 1993 trip to San Francisco.
My dear cousin Tanya is always up for fun - please do not miss her "muddy" adventures on her weekend trip to San Francisco!! <<<<----<<<<----<<<<----<<<<
LOMBARD STREET, SAN FRANCISCO
Anyone else psyched that the weekend is here! I am! Something very different about getting up early to do fun stuff on a weekend, then waking up early for the weekday routine.
Gotta shake my tail feathers - catch you back here tomorrow!! -E xoxo
