Soaked in Vienna - one year ago (c)travelincousins.com
What made the day even more extraordinary was that it was POURING!! Boy were we soaked - like two drowned rats. And, did we ever have fun!

Of course, all that rain did not stop us from thinking about and stopping for food. We actually made it to two eateries, wet and all -- lunch was at Swing Kitchen, (one of Tanya's foodie finds), a vegan burger spot and a late afternoon (vegan) ice cream spot, called Veganista!
Speaking of sweets -- today also happens to be Chocolate Day!
I was surprised when this came up as a food holiday since National Chocolate Day is in October. But, apparently Chocolate Day is another "official" day on the calendar.
Please do not miss tomorrow's blog as I tell you about the best Chocolatiers & Chocolate Shops around the country for Foodie Friday - some of these are in our own NY-area backyard!!

An unexpected delight
So didn't the week just start and now it's already Thursday and almost the weekend again?!
Hey, I'm not complaining!
I'm actually all for every weekend being a 3 day weekend and the work week being a 4 day work week rather than the 5 day grind that most people deal with.
We had a lovely day yesterday, although it started a bit stressful, when I couldn't find Dominic's Peace Ambassador costume... Ya see, yesterday was Cosette's first day in her new position as the International Peace Choir USA Ambassador -

A position only the most senior ambassadors are eligible for, and since Dominic who is most senior has already fulfilled his term (maximum of 2 years) Cosette had gone through the interview process and was rewarded the new position.
So thus Dominic goes back to being the Peace Ambassador of Italy...A position that he held for years before becoming USA.

Of course I needed to purchase a few new pieces for his previous costume, but other than that we made sure that everything fit him and that he was ready to go....
However where the costume went after that is where we were foggy on! So we both were stressin' and then finally after tearing the place inside out, I realized that we hadn't looked in a certain choir box...which is luckily where I found his costume! Whew!!
Off we drove to go pick up a few other Peace Ambassadors and on our way to the very welcomed and well received luncheon concert.

Then the rest of our day was all about getting ready for the Harry Potter concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
I surprised Cosette with a new Gryffindor shirt (that I was saving for our Florida Parks trip), I figured that it was rather suitable for the evening and she was stoked to receive it!

Then off to Los Angeles we went. Hitting much traffic along the way, because it just wouldn't be LA without the traffic! We picked up dinner along the way at DOOMIES HOME COOKIN' And then eventually arrived at the Hollywood Bowl.
Seeing so many other fans decked out and in costume really got Cosette quite excited - even more so than any other time prior to our arrival.

Being at the Hollywood Bowl had also brought back many memories of our past visits - all of which were either for the kids performing on the famed stage or for their rehearsals.

At precisely 8pm the beautiful orchestra began to play and the film had started. The excitement built and the crowd roared!!!
And then a funny thing happened...

During an intermission FaceBook post, I had noticed that we weren't the only ones (that we knew) at the concert!
There were 2 other families from the International Peace Choir (and who we had seen earlier in the day) also there enjoying the performance!
We were so excited to catch up with a few of our friends (not knowing where the others were sitting). And we had planned on trying to do the next similar type of event all together!

The night was just wonderful. It was truly an awesome experience!
Then the remainder of the night was spent in - guess what...more traffic getting home. Oh well.
As for today, I've gotta hit the gym (I couldn't get over there yesterday), we are also heading over to the stables to see Dream and Star, then Dominic has his evening classes, and the rest of the usual chores, errands and trip planning that fills my days!
