Needless to say that once we got home (after picking up the needed produce from Whole Foods) I had my work cut out for me.
What I didn't know was that the family was planning on going to the local parade and it seemed like the little girlies were really looking quite forward to it! So although it was going to put me behind in the kitchen, there was no way that I wanted to miss watching them enjoy themselves...

Then it was back home and back to the kitchen for me. Cutting, chopping, mixing, and getting everything ready for the BIG MEAL - it's like a mini Thanksgiving in July!
Everything was pretty much going according to schedule, until my little niece Chaplin had inquired about the Chocolate Covered Pretzels (which are a regular on our 4th of July menu), but I hadn't put the pretzels on this years menu!
I didn't realize that they were the one thing that Chaplin and Mika were most looking forward to. (Bad Aunt Tanya) So Andrew had agreed to run to the store for the items needed and once he got back I got to work at making them happen.
Sure it put a dent in my progress, but I couldn't disappoint these girlies!

Once the food was all ready we all sat down to a huge feast! Everything came out excellent! And yeah it was nice to finally be sitting too...at least for a little while. Because before I knew it, it was time to head back on out and go the the fireworks show!

And that was our fantastic Forth of July!
Now as you know, I just got back from Portland yesterday morning and as you can see my trip countdown is at 11 days - it's scheduled for my little Sin City summer get-a-way!
But before that takes place we have a little shall I call it a stay-cationto San Diego for the MLB All-Star game and festivities which kicks off this coming weekend, and we will head down for on Sunday morning. I can't wait!
No matter how good or bad my team is doing the rest of the season and no matter how closely I'm paying attention to the stats on any given year, going to the All-Star game is one of my favorites that I look forward to all year long. In fact I look forward to them well before the year even starts... I know that we will be down in Miami watching the All-Star game next year and in Washington DC watching the following year (2018), so far the 2019 city has yet to be chosen - so it'll be a surprise for us all!
Okay guys I'ma gonna wrap it up for today. Thanks for joining us and I look forward to seeing you back here tomorrow!
