Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING TO: Niagara Falls
More Happy Travels!!!
It's the beginning of another road trip and here we are again on the road!
Starting out from my Grandma's house this morning, Elisa, Tedd, and the girls met me and the kids and we began our caravan to Niagara Falls.
But let's not forget that today is Friday...FOODIE FRIDAY, and why not start the trip off on a sweet note with some of the BEST doughnuts that New York has to offer?! You know that means only one thing - Dun Well Doughnuts!!! Click HERE for more
Then we will be on our way with almost 7 hours of driving ahead of us, driving across the state of New York, and one border crossing, before our arrival to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls; which definitely has the better view of the falls and will be our home for the next 2 nights.
As far as yesterday went, it was our down day. I FINALLY got my nails fixed! And literally that and doing a fairly large shopping for our trip was about all we did out of the house, but somehow this little excursion took us 7 hours...don't even ask me how?! The hours just flew by!!!
And by the time we got back to my Grandma's, my cousin Gregory had already arrived and was waiting. UGH - I had showing up late and/or making people wait on me.
But we arrived just in the nick of time to do some chowing down! Cosette and I were both incredibly hungry and definitely filled our bellies with very yummy foods, while listening to one of the best crooners around...good 'ol Dean Martin!
We had a lovely visit, and then just spent the rest of the night hanging out, chill-ax-ing, and watching Netflix!
My gang and my cousin Gregory
And aside from reading Elisa's FOODIE FRIDAY feature, that's about it for the day..
I'll catch ya back here from Canada tomorrow! Eh!
Ciao 4 now, -T

On the Road Again!
Yay!!! Another trip begins today - a Road Trip to be exact!
The great thing about traveling is that there are so many ways to travel!!!
Take for instance that Tanya and I were just traveling - two wild and crazy travel chicks, hitting the rails alone all over Europe for 16 days.
We moved fast, didn't have to worry about anything but ourselves and we had an amazing time!!
Then, here we are this week, taking another one of our cousins road trips with the entire gang! Traveling with the kiddies is a completely different travel experience, which is equally amazing because we are sharing memories with our children!!
Well, our day started off great!! We hit the road at 8:45 with a quick stop for your's truly at Starbucks for a hot chocolate.
Arriving at Tanya's grandma's house in Queens, we did our usual group photo! (see above!).
Our first stop was Dun-Well Doughnuts in Brooklyn. Amazing donughts!!!! All vegan and dee-lish.
But, I digress with a little rant... As we were driving from Queens to Brooklyn, I got a call of nature that couldn't be denied!! I figured, I'd just relieve myself at Dun-Well.
Unfortunately, parking was a B$%^h, so I was forced to go around the block. Uh - not exactly around the block since there were one-ways going the wrong way; and construction on another street; a Bob's delivery truck that caused me to miss the light.
Tedd took a blurry picture of the kids in the car
Finally, I arrived at Dun-Well, only to find out there was NO BATHROOM!! I thought it was a law that if there was seating in an eating establishment, you had to have a public bathroom. I guess I was wrong!
So, I run (in pain) across the street to the laundromat, only to have the Chinese proprietor tell me in broken English that there was no bathroom. Then I proceed to go to the Tea/Coffee house where I'm told there is also no bathroom. Does anyone in Brooklyn have to pee??!!
Not only am I struggling to keep things "in" but I'm also getting progressively pissed (no pun intended). I spy a pizzeria across the street and think - I'll pay to pee.
I go in where there is a sign - REST ROOMS FOR CUSTOMERS ONLY. The place was barely open; the chairs still on the tables from clean up the night before, and the nice Spanish man tells me it's ok.
I threw the guy 2 bucks for being so nice. Whew!!!!! That was a relief. Ok - back to Dun-Well... the kids love these doughnuts and savored every bite!! I indulged in a pistachio doughnut myself! YUM!!!
As I frantically worked to finish my blog for today in Dun Well, I kept losing internet. Thank goodness Tanya was there to help me finalize!
We are now getting our caravan going!!
I'll talk to you from Canada tomorrow..
Have a great Friday!
And check back on the site later for my Foodie Friday article about some great Ice Cream in Prague!
