Tanya's Daily Scoop CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: CINCINNATI
On the Road AGAIN...
It's Monday! Welcome to a New Week!
It's a new day and I'm Greeting you from a New City! Howdy from Pittsburgh!
I'm actually writing to you from the road today, as we are continuing our MLB All-Star Road Trip and heading from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati!
To recap yesterday, we had a most fabulous day being tourists with Gigi and her parents Patty & John.
They were such wonderful and amazing hosts of their city - it was really a joy to spend the entire day and night with this warm and lovely family!
After letting Gigi know that we wanted to go see a Pittsburgh Pirates game. I left the day in Gigi's hands and let her take the lead in all the planning...
This girl reminds me so much of me - that I knew whatever she organized was gonna be great...and IT WAS!
Our gang of 3 (Dave, Dominic, and myself) started out from Chambersburg and made our way to Gigi's house and from that point forward we had carpooled and John drove while pointing out sites to Dave who was very intrigued, I sat in the back seat across from Patty and us moms were just chatting it up, the teens sat all the way in the back and were just being the awesome kids that they are!
As much as I hate getting anywhere late - Dave didn't seem to understand the pressure of us having a brunch reservation and did his thing - which translates to = taking his sweet time...
Anyhow, slightly embarrassed we arrived too late to head to the brunch that we were all looking forward to, and instead headed over to Station Square (where we'd begin our Ducky Tour) and decided to have some lunch over there.
From left - Gigi, Dominic, Dave, John, Patty, and MEEE
We received our yummy appetizer of artichoke hummus rather quickly and then had just waited and waited and waited (forever) while staring at our watches getting more than a bit nervous as each moment past about getting seats together on the Ducky Vehicle..
Then finally our order (or at least most of it) had showed up and we had to basically inhale our lunch and hustle across the street to board the amphibious vehicle for our scheduled Ducky Tour. These tours are super popular and sell out just about everyday in this city!
Our Ducky Tour guide did a quaky job and pointed out all of the sites along the way until we got to the Ohio river. At this point the driver, who became the Captain had asked for volunteers to "drive" the boat...Guess who was first in line?!
Once the tour and all of the quaking had completed, it had begun to rain. We went for a quick coffee, and then up the Incline to the Patrick T Fagan overlook where we got some awesome views and a bit rained on - can you believe that I left my slicker and umbrella in our rental! Duh
And since we had a rather light lunch, next up was dinner at Double Wide Grill - at place that I had ate at years ago (8+ years ago) and one that Gigi did a review on a couple of months ago. CLICK HERE to read her review.
BEST VEGAN DISH IN PGH - Famous Meatless Stroganoff
Following dinner, its was time to head on over to PNC Park and catch the sold out game where the Pirates would eventually take on the Cardinals in extra innings! What a fun and exciting game, full of such great energy!!! It was such a super fun filled day!
Meanwhile it sure does look like the girls had a blast at Adventureland with Elisa! Check it out --->>>--->>>--->>>--->>>--->>>--->>>--->>>--->>>
Save a life. Save the planet. GO VEGAN!
Today we'll be going to the MLB Fanfest for some All-Star fun that I'll tell ya all about in tomorrows Daily Scoop.
Until then I wish you the best Monday you could possibly have!
Elisa's Daily Scoop NEXT TRIP DEPARTS IN: 4 DAYS
Lots to Do!!
How are you doing today? Well, today is a total catch up day for me. Having returned from my European Rail Trip on Friday afternoon, I was running, running since the moment I returned.
Now, I'm going to be playing catch up!! Many, many errands.
Did you read all about Tanya's get together yesterday with one of our guest writers, Gigi Balsamico? What a delightful day!! Check it out!! <<<<<-----<<<<<-----<<<<<-----<<<<<
Yesterday was a totally fun day at Adventureland with my girlies and Tanya's girlie, Cosette!!
We had a blast. I will admit, it was a bit hot!!! But, a good splash down the Adventure Falls, and we were cooled off!!
The highlight of the day was hitting the new roller coaster
Group hug outside the park
TURBULENCE - the new coaster at Adventureland
first car on the left - Cosette and Gianna - can't see well - but Cosette's hair is flying around!!
I was so excited about this ride... until I heard that it spins as it goes around and up and down! I CANNOT do spinning. It makes me sick!!
So, folks, I had to pass - biggest bummer!!!
However, Cosette and Gianna made a BEE-LINE for the ride as soon as we entered the park!!
They came off and had this to say:
My only coaster fun was on The Ladybug, which was fun, but not as much as I had envisioned joining on a new big coaster. Boo!!
In any case, we had a great time and more importantly, the kids had a blast running all over the park, from ride to ride TOGETHER!!
After getting home, I embarked on doing 6 loads of laundry!!! Between all of my clothes and yes, even my sneakers (and Tanya's too) from my trip, plus, house laundry, I was a washin' and dryin' fool!!!
Anyway, I do apologize that this is a short one, but I have to get shakin'
