Tanya's Daily Scoop COVERING THE WEST COAST AND THE WORLD CURRENTLY TRAVELING IN: LAS VEGAS
Happy Saturday to you - yes it is finally Saturday!
It's easy to get confused here in Sin City where every day feels like the weekend...
And as luck would have it, I'm just about to run out and have some more fun!
So I'll share with you just some photos from yesterday (and night) as we bopped around Vegas.
Of course with any visit to Vegas comes a visit to Ronald's Donuts -
And Dave must pop a few donut holes!!!
And being that it was Friday - I was ALL about the French Crullers...
And if you've never had a French Cruller - go find one, eat a few and thank me later ;)
Of course those were not the only donuts we picked up - because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...including the calories!!! LOL

Tilles Center at LIU Post Tonight
Good day to you!
What a bright and sunny day I woke up to this morning! Unfortunately, the sunshine did not match the temperature, which was 9 degrees F!!
Yes, here in the northeast, and specifically, New York, we are still in a deep freeze. Call me crazy, but I am enjoying it. Of course I can say that sitting in the warmth of my house.
Yesterday, with around 5 layers, gloves, ear muffs, stockings under my jeans and tall winter snow boots, I ventured outside to run a few errands.
Thankfully, my driveway had been cleared of all signs of snow by my amazing neighbor Ryan, so all that was left was for me to clean off my car. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures folks, but it was a tad chilly and with the wind blowing and snow blowing in my face, I thought it best to just get the car cleaned.
In any case, I thoroughly enjoyed that burst of arctic-feeling air and enjoyed driving around the neighborhood.
As most of you know, I would much prefer to be living in the Sunshine state of Florida at this point in my life (for a plethora of reasons), but since that is not feasible with the girls very settled in their local Long Island schools, I figure, why not enjoy the cold winters that New York has to offer. I can't do anything about it, so why not make lemonade out of lemons!

Tonight, Kelsey and I head out to see Dirty Dancing at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of LIU Post College Campus.
Although she loves musicals and listens to more Broadway soundtracks than any eleven year old I know, she fought me on seeing this show. I pushed, because I know she's going to enjoy it. More on our little musical adventure tomorrow!!
I came across a super cool article today - once again on AFAR.com, that I thought was more than apropos considering the current weather conditions.
If you are planning a trip to Boston, consider this: The Colonnade Hotel in Boston, offers a weekend package which allows guests to match the price of their Friday night stay to the recorded temperature outside.
Can you imagine??? What this means is that if the temperature drops below zero on the first night of your visit, you can actually stay one night in this hotel for no cost at all!

This is how how works: Guests must book a two-night stay at The Colonnade during any weekend from now through April 8.
According to AFAR.com, "All Friday night rates will be determined by the National Weather Service’s reading of the outside temperature at 5 p.m. in Boston. If it’s 15 degrees, you’ll pay $15. If it’s 2 degrees, you’ll pay $2. The second night’s stay comes at a special rate of $289. (Rooms on offer accommodate two, but connecting rooms can be added for $159 per night.)"
I think this is brilliant!!! Something to think about for a fun and economical weekend get away while the weather is frosty! For the full article, click HERE.
Ok - off to tackle the cold weather. Don't forget to check out Tanya's scoop as she bops around in Las Vegas this week!!
