Planning for Kelsey's 13th
Hey guys! Well, as you've noticed, Tanya was right about her lack of wifi service while making her way through Death Valley National Park.
However, if you noticed on yesterday's blog, she did manage to text me a lovely photo taken from the road yesterday. I'm hopeful she will send me more photos for me to post on her Daily Scoop if she is unable to post. As of this writing, I have not received any - but I will pop back on to add any pics if I should receive them!!!
Yesterday, was pretty much a day of errands for me and the kids.
First, we made our way over to Trader Joe's. This was our second trip this week, and I must say, we are completely stocked up at this point!
Our shopping cart was filled to the brim and my kiddos were having a grand ole time throwing food in, as we perused each aisle with eagle eyes!

Believe it or not, there was a great deal of healthy food underneath the "healthy" snacks (c) travelincousins.com
As you may know, I love to celebrate special occasions. From the time my daughters were young, I decided I was going to do something fun for their right of passage as teens.
Now, interestingly enough, I had just come across some wonderful travel information, thanks to my friend and Garden City History Aficionado, Cyril, that EuroStar is now offering train service to yet another amazing city -- Amsterdam!!!
Of course, my mind starts racing when Kelsey said was talking about a London trip, because I'm already visualizing a "London-Amsterdam" trip!!!
You may be interested in reading this article in The Guardian, for more details on the new rail service.

The rail service between London and Amsterdam is scheduled to begin April 4th of this year, with two trains daily.
According to Rebecca Smithers, author of the article, "Tickets for the two daily trains – starting from £35 one way – will go on sale on 20 February. The services will allow passengers to travel from St Pancras station in central London direct to the Netherlands in three to four hours."
Can I tell you how excited I am!!!
We were in Amsterdam once - uh - ok, it was a connection from New York to Prague in the Spring of 2014, and - well, we were only in the airport. LOL - yes folks, our passports were stamped but we saw ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of this city.
So, this is all the more reason, we need to go back!! You can bet, I'll be talking more about this trip!

Tomorrow is the final Monday in February and Black History Month 2018. My story tomorrow featured in Elisa's Long Island and Travelin' 25 will be African-American Namesake Parks In The Outer Boroughs of NYC.
It's raining today and I'm lovin' it!! Going to get us some Dunkin' Donuts and just relax and write today while the girls finish up their homework before returning to school after this week-long Winter Break.
